Abstract:
In one aspect, a computerized process useful for integrating a feedback gathering mechanism into a captive-portal system provided over a radio wireless local area network, includes the step of detecting a user's computing device is connected to the captive-portal system of the radio wireless local area network. The process includes the step of providing a feedback form as an over a captive portal to the user's computing device. The feedback form comprises a set of multiple-choice questions answerable by a user. The process includes the step of linking the multiple-choice questions in a way such that the choice of answer for a question at any stage decides a subsequent question. The process includes the step of implicitly tying the multiple-choice questions to a specified set of categories.
Abstract:
In one aspect, a computer system useful for recording guest feedback on a captive portal before granting internet access through a venue's Wi-Fi hotspot includes a processor. The processor is communicatively coupled with a memory containing instructions when executed on the processor, causes the processor to perform operations that: provide a captive portal, wherein the captive portal comprises a web page that is shown before allowing a guest's computing device's web browser to access the Internet via a venue's Wi-Fi network; with the web page provided by the captive portal, presenting the guest with a feedback form, wherein the feedback form is hosted locally in a local, gateway controller; and obtaining a guest's feedback from a guest input in the feedback form.
Abstract:
A method for testing a computer application includes identifying components of a version of the application, said components including one or more components that are one of new and modified, generating a keyword matrix of the identified application components. A search is performed in a test script repository with respect to components listed as at least one of the first and second dimensions of the matrix. The keyword matrix is populated with test case identification numbers in the search result. Based on the populated keyword matrix, one or more of (a) gaps in test case coverage for the version of the application, and (b) one or more test cases covering the version of the application are identified.
Abstract:
A for operating a thermal, flow measuring device having a first sensor having a first heatable, resistance thermometer and at least one additional, second sensor having a second heatable, resistance thermometer, wherein a decision coefficient is calculated according to the formula DC=(PC1−PC2)/PC1, wherein PC1(t=t1)=P1,1(t1)/(T1,heated;actual(t=t1)−Tmedium;actual(t=t1)) and PC2(t=t2)=P2,2(t2)/(T2,heated;actual(t=t2)−Tmedium;actual(t=t2)), with P being the heating powers absorbed by the corresponding resistance thermometers at the points in time t and the temperature values T, wherein the value of the decision coefficient shows flow direction of a measured medium in the measuring tube.
Abstract:
A method for viewing a collection of images or videos, includes analyzing the collection to determine properties of the images or videos and using the determined properties to produce icons corresponding to such properties; providing a time-varying display of the images or videos in the collection following an ordering of the images or videos in the collection and at least one of the corresponding icons; receiving a user selection of an icon; changing the time-varying display of the images or videos in the collection following a reordering of the images or videos in the collection in response to the user selection; storing the sequence of the user selections and associated timing in a script in a processor accessible memory; and playing back the viewing of the collection of images or videos using the script.
Abstract:
Automated person re-identification may be assisted by consideration of attributes of the person in a joint classification with matching of the person. By both solving for similarities in a plurality of attributes and identities, discriminative interactions may be captured. Automated person re-identification may be assisted by consideration of a semantic color name. Rather than a color histogram, probability distributions are mapped to color terms of the semantic color name. Using other descriptors as well, similarity measures for the various descriptors are weighted and combined into a score. Either or both considerations may be used.
Abstract:
A measuring tube, a measuring system and a method for determining and/or monitoring flow through a measuring tube, comprising a measuring tube, on which ultrasonic transducers are releasably placeable. The ultrasonic transducers transmit and/or receive ultrasonic signals, which pass through the measuring tube approximately coaxially to the measuring tube axis.
Abstract:
Thermal, flow measuring device and method for operating a thermal, flow measuring device, wherein the thermal, flow measuring device has a first sensor with a first heatable resistance thermometer and at least an additional, second sensor with a second heatable resistance thermometer. A decision coefficient is calculated according to the formula DC=(PC1−PC2)/PC1, with PC1(t=t1)=P1,1(t1)/(T1,heated;actual(t=t1)−Tmedium;actual(t=t1)) and PC2(t=t2)=P2,2(t2)/(T2,heated;actual(t=t2)−Tmedium;actual(t=t2)), with P being the heating powers consumed by the corresponding resistance thermometers at the points in time t, and T being the temperature values; wherein the value of the decision coefficient indicates the flow direction of a measured medium in the measuring tube.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for modifying the prosody of synthesized speech based on an associated speech act. A system configured according to the method embodiment (1) receives text, (2) performs an analysis of the text to determine and assign a speech act label to the text, and (3) converts the text to speech, where the speech prosody is based on the speech act label. The analysis performed compares the text to a corpus of previously tagged utterances to find a close match, determines a confidence score from a correlation of the text and the close match, and, if the confidence score is above a threshold value, retrieving the speech act label of the close match and assigning it to the text.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are systems, computer-implemented methods, and tangible computer-readable media for enriching spoken language translation with dialog acts. The method includes receiving a source speech signal, tagging dialog acts associated with the received source speech signal using a classification model, dialog acts being domain independent descriptions of an intended action a speaker carries out by uttering the source speech signal, producing an enriched hypothesis of the source speech signal incorporating the dialog act tags, and outputting a natural language response of the enriched hypothesis in a target language. Tags can be grouped into sets such as statement, acknowledgement, abandoned, agreement, question, appreciation, and other. The step of producing an enriched translation of the source speech signal uses a dialog act specific translation model containing a phrase translation table.
