Abstract:
A method for converting soot particles of an exhaust gas includes providing at least nitrogen dioxide or oxygen in the exhaust gas, ionizing soot particles with an electric field, depositing electrically charged soot particles on inner channel walls of at least one surface precipitator, and bringing at least nitrogen dioxide or oxygen into contact with the deposited soot particles on the inner channel walls of the at least one surface precipitator. A device for carrying out the method includes at least one surface precipitator having a plurality of channels through which the exhaust gas can flow and extending between an inlet region and an outlet region, and at least one deposit inhibitor for electrically charged soot particles provided in at least part of the inlet region, especially allowing the soot particles to be evenly deposited and the surface precipitator to be continuously regenerated.
Abstract:
An injection nozzle for supplying reducing agent to an exhaust gas system includes a plurality of outlet openings, each of which can generate different droplets of the reducing agent. A device for the treatment of exhaust gases includes an exhaust gas treatment unit and at least one corresponding injection nozzle, in which at least two groups of outlet openings form different impingement regions on the exhaust gas treatment unit.
Abstract:
A method and a device for treating exhaust gas containing particles, include a particle separator and at least one particle agglomeration device positioned upstream of the particle separator in exhaust gas flow direction. The particle agglomeration device includes at least one apparatus for forming an electrical field and a particle buffer storage device, through which the exhaust gas can flow. The particles are stored on top of each other at the particle buffer storage device in such a way that particle agglomerates are formed, which are removed from the particle buffer storage device again after a short period of time and supplied to the particle separator for conversion. A motor vehicle having the device and performing the method is also provided.
Abstract:
A honeycomb body includes at least one housing and a honeycomb structure with a plurality of channels. The honeycomb structure is formed from at least one at least partially structured metallic layer which forms connecting points fixing the honeycomb structure. A cross section of the honeycomb structure has radial zones with differing densities of the connecting points. In at least one zone, at least 1% and at most 20% of inner contact points in the cross section also form a connecting point. An exhaust-gas purification unit and a motor vehicle are also provided.
