    摘要: An exhaust treatment apparatus (ATA) is provided for reducing one or more components of the airstream directed through the ATA. The ATA includes an airstream inlet, an airstream outlet, and an airstream path directed through the ATA from the airstream inlet to the airstream outlet, and at least one corona/NTP generating region for altering a composition of an airstream passing through the ATA. The ATA includes an outer enclosure forming one electrode surface and a second electrode surface positioned within and electrically insulated from the outer enclosure electrode surface, where an area between the outer enclosure electrode surface and the second electrode surface forms at least a part of the airstream path directed through the ATA. The second electrode surface comprises a series of ridges positioned along the airstream path and directed towards the outer enclosure that encourage corona generation. A method is provided for using the ATA for treating an airstream, including an exhaust airstream from a combustion engine, as well as an exhaust airstream from a compression-ignition (diesel) engine.

The method includes determining an injector thaw period for a reductant injector in the exhaust system when the ambient temperature is less than the predetermined temperature. The method includes determining a tank thaw period for a reductant tank associated with the exhaust system, the reductant tank being configured to supply reductant to the reductant injector. The method also includes controlling (i) a heater to heat the reductant tank for the tank thaw period and (ii) a current provided to the reductant injector for the injector thaw period, such that the tank thaw period and the injector thaw period end at a same time.

    摘要: A method and system for treating emissions includes charging particles in an exhaust stream, producing one or more radicals, and oxidizing at least a portion of the charged particles with at least a portion of the produced radicals. At least a portion of the charged particles in the exhaust stream are then attracted on at least one attraction surface which is one of oppositely charged from the charged particles and grounded. The attracted particles are oxidized with another portion of the one or more produced radicals to self regenerate the at least one attraction surface. Downstream from where the attracted particles are oxidized, at least a portion of one or more first compounds in the exhaust stream are converted to one or more second compounds downstream from the attracting. Additionally, at least a portion of any remaining charged particles are oxidized into one or more gases.

    摘要: A device and a method for producing electrical energy from an exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine include a generator with an exhaust gas inlet, an exhaust gas outlet and a heat exchange portion therebetween. The heat exchange portion includes a plurality of flow paths for the exhaust gas.     摘要: A concentration of HC in an exhaust gas is estimated with a high degree of accuracy by making use of a particulate matter processing apparatus (1). In the particulate matter processing apparatus (1) in which a processing part (3) with an electrode (5) installed therein is arranged in an exhaust passage (2) of an internal combustion engine, wherein particulate matter is caused to aggregate by generating a potential difference between the electrode (5) and the processing part (3), provision is made for a power supply (6) that is connected to the electrode (5) and applies a voltage thereto, an insulation part (4) that insulates electricity between the processing part (3) and the exhaust passage (2), and a ground part (53) that grounds the processing part (3), a detection device (9) that detects an electric current in the ground part (53), and an estimation device (7) that estimates a concentration of HC in an exhaust gas based on the electric current detected by the detection device (9) at the time when the voltage is applied to the electrode (5) by means of the power supply (6).
