The continuous strip is wound in a helical pattern to form a cylindrical hose body. The strip has a generally S-shaped cross section including an inner hook portion and an outer hook portion. The strip is helically wrapped such that the inner and outer hook portions of adjacent wraps interlock to form flexible joints of the hose.

摘要： The present disclosure relates to a clamp for sealing a lap joint formed by a first pipe inserted within a second pipe. The clamp includes a strap having a concave inner curvature that curves about a central axis. The strap includes a first axial end positioned opposite from a second axial end. A first axial portion of the strap is positioned at the first axial end, and a second axial portion of the strap is positioned at the second axial end. The first axial portion has a cylindrical inner surface adapted to provide a seal about the first pipe, and the second axial portion has a cylindrical inner surface adapted to form a seal about the second pipe. A radial in-step connects the first and second axial portions. The radial in-step provides a diameter transition between an inner diameter D1 of the first axial portion and an inner diameter D2 of the second axial portion such that the inner diameter D1 is larger than the inner diameter D2. The clamp further includes a single fastener for tightening both the first and second axial portions at the lap joint.

摘要： A lap joint includes an outer, flexible, cylindrical tube; an inner, solid, cylindrical pipe; and a securing device for compressing the flexible tube around the pipe for securing the flexible tube to the pipe and for providing a substantially leak-free connection between the flexible tube and the pipe. The flexible tube has first and second ends and a first diameter. The flexible tube includes a plurality of captured slots punched through the flexible tube at least at the first end. The plurality of captured slots have a first plurality of metal deformations to prevent circumferential slippage of the flexible tube and are disposed annularly around the flexible tube. Each of the plurality of captured slots are inboard of the first end and do not extend to the first end. The securing device is arranged and configured to completely cover the plurality of captured slots. The flexible tube also includes a plurality of relief slots punched through the flexible tube at least at the first end. The plurality of relief slots have a second plurality of metal deformations to prevent circumferential slippage of the flexible tube and are disposed annularly around the flexible tube. Each of the plurality of relief slots extends to the first end and extends a first distance inboard of the captured slots. Each of the plurality of relief slots is offset a second distance from the relief slots. The solid pipe has first and second ends. The first end has a second diameter less than the first diameter of the flexible tube. The first end is arranged and configured to telescopically slide within the first end of the flexible tube.

The pipe body is made from a strip that is helically wrapped in a plurality of convolutions. The strip includes inner and outer hook portions that interlock to form an interlock seam between adjacent convolutions. The pipe body includes a mid-portion positioned between first and second end portions. At least the first end portion has an axial length L1 that traverses at least several of the convolutions of the pipe body. The first end portion is crushed radially inward relative to the mid-portion such that the first end portion has an effective outer diameter D1 that is smaller than an effective outer diameter D2 of the mid-portion. A first transition region is positioned between the first end portion and the mid-portion. The first transition region provides a diameter transition between the outer diameter D1 of the first end portion and the outer diameter D2 of the mid-portion. The first transition region has an axial length L2 that traverses at least one of the convolutions of the pipe.

摘要： A conical filter device inserts into a duct having flow passing from upstream to downstream. The filter device includes fluted filter media having flutes formed therein and a housing. The filter forms a seal between the outer edge of the filter at the downstream side and the housing. The upstream face of the filter is conical shaped in a first embodiment and frusto-conical in a second embodiment with the housing roughly corresponding to the shape of the filter. The filter elements are formed by winding layers of filter media to form a circular cross-section. The elements are moved axially as they are wound or placed on a shaping form while the sealant is still pliable to shape the element.

摘要： The present invention relates to a filter including a filter element having a sucession of inner connected pleats. The pleats have successive pleat tips which define an outer boundary of the filter element. Covering the entire outer boundary of the filter element is a permeable generally inelastic sheet which extends across successive pleat tips. The sheet is adhesively affixed to the pleat tips for maintaining spacing of the pleats. The sheet comprises of plurality of randomly arranged plastic filaments which are bonded to each other junctions between the filaments and define a plurality of randomly spaced and shaped opening for allowing substantially unrestricted flow of a fluid through the sheet.
