摘要： A facsimile transceiver comprising a document/copy receiving drum, a motor for rotation of the drum about the drum axis and a read/write head mounted for linear movement in a direction parallel with the drum axis. When the transceiver is operating in the receive mode, the copy medium having adhesive along at least one edge circumscribes the drum in a closed loop so as to eliminate the necessity for transmitter-receiver angular synchronizing signals which would otherwise be required for locating the copy margin adjacent the edge of the copy paper. After completion of a transmission, the copy medium is severed along a line so as to provide an appropriate margin for the copied information content. The copy medium may comprise a magazine having a plurality of sheets of a copy medium which form individual closed loops where one edge of each sheet overlaps with and is attached to the opposite edge of the sheet. Tear strings may be provided for shearing the copy paper loop so as to provide an appropriate margin for the copy.

摘要： A process transmitter communications circuit has link terminals which are coupled to a process link, which supplies power to the circuit. A power source is coupled to one of the link terminals and is independent from the power supplied from the process link. Communications circuitry is coupled to the power source and link terminals, which transmits a transmitter signal over the process link, through the link terminals. A power sensing component is coupled to at least one of the link terminals and the communications circuitry and senses whether the power supplied by the process link is inadequate to transmit the transmitter signal. A power control component is coupled to the power source, the link terminals and the communications circuitry and selectively applies power from the power source to the communications circuitry for transmitting the transmitter signal when the power sensing component senses there is inadequate power supplied by the process link.

摘要： A protection circuit is provided for protecting sensitive electrical field instruments from a transient voltage strike and for ensuring that the instruments will meet safety approval during high potential voltage testing. The first and second wires of a two-wire circuit are connected to a first and second terminal respectively. A first surge arrestor electrically couples a first path between the first and second terminal. An impedance and a transient suppressor are connected in series and electrically couple a second path between the first and second terminal. The second path is coupled in parallel with the first path between the first and second terminal and is coupled closer to the internal components of the electrical instruments to be protected than is the first path. A second surge arrestor is electrically coupled between the second terminal and ground, and has a higher voltage breakdown potential than the first surge arrestor.

摘要： An anatomy testing device for determining pregnancy in gilts and sows is disclosed comprising a housing containing an electronic circuit to generate and analyze ultrasonic waves. Located on the exterior of the housing are a transducer probe for emitting ultrasonic waves when in contact with the animal's body, a first light to indicate that proper airless contact has been made between the animal's body and the probe, a second light to indicate pregnancy of the animal because of the increase in fluid content of the uterus, an audible alarm to also indicate pregnancy, a charger plug for recharging the batteries, and a test button to activate the electronic circuit. The circuit comprises an ultrasonic transceiver monolithic integrated circuit, an inverter means, a binary counter means, two AND gate means and R.S. flipflop means to generate, transmit, receive the echo of, analyze, and interpret ultrasonic waves to determine animal pregnancy. The portable anatomy testing device contains a rechargeable battery power supply within the housing to power the electronic circuit, indicator lights and audio indicator.

When the transceiver is operating in the transmitting mode, the information of the original document is scanned by a reading fiber optic carried on the read/write head. Illumination of the document is provided by a light pipe or a plurality of fiber optics which substantially surround the reading fiber optic which extends from the base of a recess in an arcuate surface of the read/write head which rides on the document carried by the drum. The arcuate surface has a portion with a radius of curvature substantially equal to the radius of curvature of the drum in the vicinity of the reading fiber optic and portions spaced from the reading fiber optic with radii of curvature substantially larger so as to prevent undesirable bouncing of the head as a discontinuity in document thickness passes between the read/write head and the drum.

Actuation of a wheel assembly results in the wheel exerting an increased force on the surface supporting the patient lift, which may decrease the pressure of the remaining patient lift wheels on the support surface. Alternate embodiments include one or more adjustable wheel assemblies in a kit for attachment to a patient lift. A user input component may also be included to provide a single device a user can use to simultaneously actuate the wheel assemblies. Alternate embodiments utilize wedges, hinges, cams, and/or threaded members to increase the force exerted by the wheel on the support surface.
