The invention relates to a winder guard in a two-drum winder which combines the web cutting and the winder guard functions to one device. The winder guard is movable in an arcuate path around the front (downstream) winding drum. The winder guard has an upstream edge on which a cutting blade is mounted so as to align with the winder guard, and pass between the two winding drums and then to be bent to engage the rear (upstream) winding drum so as to cut a plurality of partial fiber webs WP slit from a machine web W in a slitter and wrapped around the rear winding drum onto winding cores 14 around which customer rolls 10 are wound. Adequate space beneath the winding drums for maintenance and broke cleanup is provided by winder guard movement along an arcuate path around the front winding drum.

An air nozzle arrangement for a fluidized bed boiler, comprising an air feed pipe and an air nozzle which limit an air feed duct configured to supply air to the furnace of the fluidized bed boiler. The air nozzle arrangement comprises a surface configured to guide coarse material along said surface. At least part of said surface is thermally insulated from the air nozzle and/or the air feed pipe. Furthermore, at least part of said surface is configured to protect at least part of said air nozzle and/or air feed pipe. Thus, the temperature of said surface is configured to be high when the fluidized bed boiler is in operation, whereby the solidification of molten material of the fluidized bed in the air nozzle arrangement is reduced.

A refiner (10, 11) for refining fibrous material has a first refining surface (1′) and a second refining surface (2′) arranged opposite to one another and mobile in relation to one another. The refining surfaces have refining surface portions (15, 27) feeding material to be refined and/or discharging refined material as well as refining surface portions (16) grinding the material to be refined, on the upper surface of which there are blade bars (17) and between them blade grooves (18). In the refining surface (1′, 2′) of the refiner (10, 11) the cross-sectional area (A) of at least some blade grooves (18) is arranged to decrease from one blade groove (18) to the next from the direction of the feed edge (13) to the direction of the discharge edge (14) of the refining surface (1′, 2′).

A rod-bed assembly has a holder (30) and an insert (20) removably and insertably supported in a groove (31) of the holder (30), the rod-bed assembly being for a rod (10) rotatably supported in a recess (21) on a front side of the insert (20). Longitudinal bending of the holder (30) in a cross-direction is under 0.5%, advantageously under 0.35%, of the longitudinal distance between two profiling loading points of the holder (30).

A digital hydraulic controller has a feed line, a drain line, an output line and a plurality of individually switchable on/off valves which selectively connect the feed line to the output line or which connect the output line to the drain line. A controlled quantity is detected which includes a pressure and/or a flow rate of a fluid in the output line. One of the valves is selected to be switched to control the amount and direction of fluid passing through the valve for controlling the controlled quantity to approach a target value. A test sequence is performed including calibration of the individual valves by alternately opening two of the valves, one of which connects the feed line to the output line and the other connects the output line to the drain line, and by calculating and setting calibration values for the individual valves.

The invention relates to a method in a fiber web machine. In the method, a fabric (12) included in the fiber web machine is used for supporting a web (14) produced by the fiber web machine. Moreover, in the method the location of the fabric (12) is changed in the cross direction (CD) of the fiber web machine. The location is changed by means of oscillation, the amplitude (19) of which is kept so high that the area of impact (20) of the web (14) on the fabric (12) is wider than the width (21) of the web (14) throughout the lifetime of the fabric (12). The invention also relates to an arrangement in a fiber web machine, and to a software product.

A pressure screen for use in a fiber web product process (10) has an inlet zone (12), a basket having an accept zone (14) and a reject zone (20). The pressure screen (10) has a housing (28) inside which a rotor (27) is located. The reject zone (20) of the pressure screen (10) has a cover (22) forming a rejects chamber (21) for the reject zone (20). The cover (22) of the rejects chamber (21) of the screen (10) is removable by a reopenable attachment means (25, 29) attached to the housing (28) of the screen (10).

A refining surface (5) has refining bars (25) and refining grooves (26) therebetween and at least one recess (27, 27′, 27″) extending from the outer end edge of the refining segment at least partly towards the inner end edge for forming at least partly at least one backflow guide groove (28) extending from the outer end edge of the refining segment at least partly towards the inner end edge. A slitter-winder for fiber webs has an unwinding section (10), a slitting section (20) and a winding section (30) and is configured to unwind, slit and wind a thick fiber web having a basic weight of at least 200 g/m2 to customer rolls (33). The unwinding section (10) has a first unwinder (11) and a second unwinder (12) for unwinding the thick fiber web from a parent roll of full-width thick fiber web (W11, W12), and a joining device (16, 17) for joining a beginning end of a thick fiber web (W11) coming from a parent roll in the first unwinder to an end of a thick fiber web (W12) coming from a parent roll in the second unwinder by forming a joint (J). The winding section (30) has a cutting device (35) for cutting and removing joint part(s) of the thick fiber web from the winding section (30).
