The winder guard is movable in an arcuate path around the front (downstream) winding drum. The winder guard has an upstream edge on which a cutting blade is mounted so as to align with the winder guard, and pass between the two winding drums and then to be bent to engage the rear (upstream) winding drum so as to cut a plurality of partial fiber webs WP slit from a machine web W in a slitter and wrapped around the rear winding drum onto winding cores 14 around which customer rolls 10 are wound. Adequate space beneath the winding drums for maintenance and broke cleanup is provided by winder guard movement along an arcuate path around the front winding drum.

    摘要: A double-drum winder including means for changing winding cores is disclosed. Two support drums are separated by a first gap, through which a web is fed from below. A roll, comprising a winding core and part of the web wrapped around it, rests on both drums. The web follows the surface of the first drum through the first gap, to the point of contact between the first drum and the roll. At least one drum is driven, wrapping the web onto the roll. When the roll is complete, it is lifted and simultaneously moved toward the second drum, opening a second gap between the roll and the first drum. A holding device, which is preferably rotated into position about the second drum through the first gap, holds the web against the first drum. A severing device severs the web. The severing device preferably is rotated about the first drum through the second gap to effect the severing. Because the roll is lifted toward the second, rather than the first drum, the web is stretched between the roll and the point at which the web is held against the first drum, facilitating the severing of the web. A new winding core is then introduced, preferably through the second gap, and the end of the web being held against the first drum is attached to it.

    摘要: In a cross cutting device for a winding machine having at least a first carrier roll (11) wrapped by the web to be wound and a second carrier roll, both carrier rolls forming a winding bed for at least one roll (13) to be wound around a winding core (14), particularly for winding paper in form of one web or several webs in parallel, a cross cutting device to cut through the web after completion of a roll (13) is formed near the front end of a support beam (24) being conductible through a clearance gap (G) between a first and second carrier roll into a cutting position of the cross cutting device which is located at or close to the surface of said first carrier roll (11). Said support beam (24) can be pressed by means of a finished wrapped roll (13) against said wrapped first carrier roll (11). The cross cutting device, further, comprises a clamping device being conductible counter to the web running direction into the clamping position and there, overlapping the arriving web edge of the next roll to be wound, securely clamps said arriving web edge independently of the cross cutting device. Said cross cutting device being conductible back through the clearance gap (G) between said carrier rolls to its home position and after one or several new winding core or cores has/have been loaded said clamping device being detachable from the web edge and being conductible back in the web running direction to its home position.

A tiltable cutting device includes a blade, a blade carrier, a connecting link, and a support structure. The blade carrier and the support structure are pivotally connected to each other by the connecting link in such a manner that the blade carrier can be tilted into a position in which the blade faces the web of material while the opposite end of the blade carrier rests against the outer surface of the unwrapped support roller.
