Methods, systems, and computer programs products are disclosed for neural channel selection in a multi-channel system. A method according to one embodiment can include a step for receiving a plurality of neural signals on a first plurality of channels. The method can also include a step for calculating criterion variable value for the neural signal on each of the channels. In addition, the method can include a step for ranking the channels by the criterion variable value. The method can also include a step for calculating mutual information between a measured output and a total population activity for the first plurality of channels. Further, the method can include a step for determining a second plurality of channels that encodes a predetermined amount of the mutual information.

In this case, the movement of the valve tappet is generated by contraction/expansion or flexion or stretching of at least one artificial muscle. Furthermore, the artificial muscle can form a gas pressure chamber, by the action of pressure upon which a counterforce can be exerted on the valve tappet. Alternative embodiments of the invention relate particularly to the movement of valve flaps by artificial muscles and to the closing of a valve orifice by an artificial muscle of variable form.

    摘要: The artificial sensibility device has a left sensor applied to a left finger, a middle sensor applied to a middle finger and a right sensor applied to a right finger of a hand. The sensors are connected to an amplifier unit that is connected to a headphone unit with a left speaker and a right speaker. The left and finger is moved against a surface to activate the left sensor to send a first activation signal to the amplifier unit that sends a first sound signal only to the left speaker but nothing to the right speaker so the user know the left finger is moved. The right finger is moved against the surface so that the right sensor sends a second sound signal only to the right speaker but nothing to the left speaker.

    摘要: A cured emulsion of a polymerizable silicone compound and an inert paste such as petroleum jelly, liquid soap solution, or combination thereof forms a tough, elastic material that simulates the characteristics of connective tissue when used to join an outer skin layer to an understructure, and is useable in the production of models and prostheses. The silicone compound is preferably a mixture of a room temperature vulcanizable silicone rubber and a low viscosity silicone fluid. A high viscosity plasticizer, such as high viscosity silicone fluid, can be added to the emulsion to better simulate the characteristics of connective tissue. The emulsion is preferably joined to the outer skin layer by adhering fiber to the emulsion and coating the emulsion and fibers with the outer layer.

    摘要: A molding compound for molding body portions preferably serves the purpose of producing a counterpart for the production of a model for making prostheses, particularly teeth prostheses or orthopaedic prostheses, or the purpose of cladding such prostheses for adapting same to a changed shape of body portions. This molding compound consists of a silicone containing pressure-elastic hollow microspheres the thin shell of which consists of a vinylidene chloride copolymer and the interior of which contains a gas. This silicone is initially liquid or pasty and, respectively, kneadable and solidifies after a certain time to a rubber-like consistency by adding a hardener, so that the molding compound reproduces the shape of the body portion to be molded.
