摘要: Therapy patches are disclosed which are designed to deliver vibration and heat (or cold) to human skin so as to provide muscle relief. These patches have a chemical pouch that generates heat or cold upon initiation. They also have a motor and battery to provide a vibration source. Forms of the invention have an adhesive so that the patch can be attached to the skin (and thus need not be manually held in place during use). Kits are also provided in which the motor and battery can be used with a string of linked, severable replacement pouches. Methods of using these patches are also disclosed.

摘要: A sheet-like face pack and kits for face packs are provided. The pack comprises a pouched part having an air-permeable side and an air-impermeable side, a substrate layer for gel that is set on the outer surface of the air-impermeable side, a gel layer that is set on the substrate layer, and an exothermic composition that is put into the pouched part, wherein a moisture permeability of the air-permeable side is within the range of 300 to 2,300 g/m2·24 hours by the Lyssy method, and wherein the temperature of the gel layer reaches 38° C. within 10 minutes after the exothermic composition starts to contact oxygen and is then maintained between 38° C. and 45° C. for 20 minutes or more, wherein the temperature of the gel layer is determined according to the method for determining a temperature based on JIS S 4100.

摘要: Systems and methods for attenuating a panic attack are provided. Such methods can comprise steps of delivering a drug to a subject such that the drug forms a depot beneath a skin surface, wherein the drug is suitable for attenuating a panic attack if delivered in a pharmaceutically effective amount into systemic circulation of the subject; and applying heat to the skin surface when the subject experiences an onset of the panic attack, thereby causing the pharmaceutically effective amount of the drug to rapidly enter systemic circulation from the depot.

摘要: A personal heating device includes a chamber having a closed end and an opposing open end. One or more air intake holes are formed in the chamber proximal the closed end to allow air into the chamber. One or more vent holes are formed proximal the opposing open end to allow air to exit the chamber. A heat source disposed inside the chamber holds generates heat, and a cap slidably covers the chamber open end to hold in the heat and regulate the air exiting the vent holes.

摘要: Disclosed is a method and apparatus for the non-invasive determination of one or more preselected analytes in a body fluid expressed through the skin. The fluid is collected in a dermal concentration patch and concentrated by driving off a portion of the substantial water fraction under the influence of body heat. The analyte is optimally complexed with an immobilized specific binding partner and an indicium of the presence of the analyte is visually expressed. The patch may comprise a plurality of test zones for screening for a plurality of analytes. Additional positive and negative control zones are also disclosed. The patch may comprise a feature to detect tampering with the patch to produce false negative results, especially when used in screens for drugs of abuse. In addition to being useful as a drug of abuse screen, the patch is useful for diagnostic purposes.
