摘要: A method and apparatus for the treatment of injuries or pain associated with the neck, spine, lower back, sacrum or central nervous system. Apparatus can also be used to cool and relax the body. The particular embodiment utilizes a neck wrap that is activated to produce an endothermic reaction to draw heat from, or apply cold to, the neck, spine and central nervous system. A clear or transparent layer is also used to help with visual inspection. In another embodiment a neck wrap contains ice cubes to draw heat from, or apply cold to, the neck, spine and central nervous system. Layers are used to accomplish different applications and colors are used to associate with selected sport teams colors or camouflaged as may be required in a battlefield environment. Another embodiment utilizes a similar device and design for a lower back wrap.

摘要: A cooling device for placement against a body part or object includes a shell member having an outer face and an inner face disposed against a surface to be cooled. A first cooling substrate is disposed within the shell member and is an absorbent web having a generally uniform application of a first cooling composition applied thereto, the cooling composition activated by contact with an aqueous liquid. An aqueous liquid source is disposed within the shell member and is separated from the first cooling substrate by a barrier member. The device is activated by manual manipulation to breach the barrier member causing liquid from the liquid source to move within the interior space of the shell member to contact and activate the cooling composition whereby a cooling reaction is generated.

摘要: Mechanically bistable thermal devices and methods of utilizing the same. The mechanically bistable thermal devices include a mechanically bistable element and a thermal element. The mechanically bistable element is configured to be selectively transitioned between a straight conformation, in which the mechanically bistable element defines an elongate shape, and a wrapped conformation, in which the mechanically bistable element defines an arcuate shape and is configured to at least partially encircle an encircled form. The thermal element is configured to exchange thermal energy with the encircled form when in thermal contact with the encircled form and includes a thermal material that includes a fluid and/or a granular solid. The methods include activating the thermal element and transitioning the mechanically bistable element from the straight conformation to the wrapped conformation to at least partially encircle the encircled form with the mechanically bistable device.

摘要: The present invention relates to a fabric arrangement and pillow designed to prevent skin lines and wrinkle formation while improving sleep using combinations of fabrics, cooling technologies and scents. The present invention is designed with a specific fabric and materials combination that create a surface in which the shear stresses causing skin lines and wrinkles are eliminated. Multiple layers make up the fabric arrangement include a top layer comprising a stretchable material and a second layer comprising a low friction material relative to the first layer. Supporting the first two layer is a support layer such as foam. Lower layers may comprise a cooling material, an antimicrobial or anti-allergenic material and a scent layer.
