Abstract: The invention relates to a heating and/or cooling device (10) for delivering heating and/or cooling energy to the body of a living being (28). The heating and/or cooling device (10) comprises a heating and/or cooling pad (12) which can be connected to the body of the person (28). The heating and/or cooling pad has an upper face (122) and a lower face (121), and an adhesive surface (1210) is provided on the lower face (121) for attaching the heating and/or cooling pad (12) to the surface of the skin of the person (28). The heating and/or cooling pad comprises at least one heating and/or cooling element (26) by means of which electrical energy output by an electrical energy source (22) can be converted into heating and/or cooling energy. The heating and/or cooling device (10) further comprises a control unit (14) which is provided for fixedly or detachably accommodating the energy source (22) and has a signal processor (16). Furthermore, the control unit (14) is provided for outputting an open-loop and/or closed-loop control signal, by means of which the energy output from the energy source (22) to the heating and/or cooling element (26) can be controlled. The heating and/or cooling pad (12) and the control unit (14) can be electrically and mechanically connected to one another by at least one electrical connector (18a, 18b), via which the electrical energy can be transmitted to the heating and/or cooling element (26), and by at least one mechanical and/or magnetic connector (20a, 20b).

Abstract: A knee brace includes: an elastic sleeve; first and second stiffening members coupled together to crisscross to form an X-shape, and secured to a medial side of the sleeve; third and fourth stiffening members similarly coupled together and secured to a lateral side of the sleeve; and a plurality of slits in the sleeve into a corresponding pockets that receive a thermal pack. The thermal packs and pockets are triangular shaped, with two triangular-shaped pockets on the medial side of the sleeve, and two on the lateral side, each disposed in a respective triangular shape positioned between the x-shape of the stiffening members. The pairs of stiffening members are either: fixedly coupled together to store energy when the user bends at the knee, and to expend the stored energy to assist in lifting the user upward; or pivotally coupled together to pivot according to movements of the wearer's knee joint.

Abstract: The current invention discloses a treatment device having a heat source, a power source and a heat applicator. The power source includes at least one nanotech battery, ensuring superior properties such as prolonged electricity production and prompt recharging. The heat applicator includes a heat conductive layer made from nanofibers, providing highly efficient heat distribution to the targeted regions. The power source provides energy to the heat source, which generates heat so that the applicator may distribute to an injury site or wound bed of a user. The current device may also be used for cooling, instead of heating applications. In addition to the medical utilizations, the current device may also play a central role in other apparatus that require thermal control capabilities.

Abstract: Methods of treating a wart are provided which include: providing a heating device having a central zone and peripheral zone, sized to cover the wart and skin peripheral to the wart, and including a heat-generating material that undergoes an exothermic reaction when exposed to oxygen; providing a liquid therapeutic adhesive comprising a volatile solvent, skin-compatible adhesive and therapeutic agent; applying the liquid therapeutic adhesive to the skin peripheral to the wart or to the peripheral zone of the heating device; initiating the exothermic reaction of the heat-generating material by exposure of the heat-generating material to oxygen; applying the central zone of the heating device to contact the wart, thereby heating the wart and skin peripheral to the wart to an elevated skin temperature; and maintaining the elevated skin temperature for a period of time, thereby creating an enclosed heated environment treating the wart and skin peripheral to the wart.

The heating device of the present invention comprises a bag unit 2 containing an exothermic composition A including an oxidizable metal that can generate heat by contact with air, one surface of the bag unit 2 being air-permeable; an adhesive layer 3 formed on the other surface of the bag unit 2; a first release sheet 4 provided on the adhesive layer 3 to cover the adhesive layer 3; and a second release sheet 5 provided on the first release sheet 4 to cover the first release sheet 4, wherein the first release sheet 4 has a release portion 41 and a residual portion 42; when the second release sheet 5 is removed from the first release sheet 4, the release portion 41 is removed together with the second release sheet 5 and the residual portion 42 remains on the adhesive layer 3.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a smart cooling paste. The smart cooling paste comprises: a cooling paste body and a temperature sensing module, a touch display module and a control module. The cooling paste body comprises a carrier and a gel layer located on the carrier. The temperature sensing module, the touch display module and the control module are fixed on the carrier. A sensing surface of the temperature sensing module and a surface of the gel layer away from the carrier are in a same plane, for sensing temperature of forehead. The control module is used for obtaining a sensed temperature and transmitting the sensed temperature to the touch display module. A screen of the touch display module is located on a surface of the carrier away from the gel layer.

Abstract: Dry eye treatment apparatus and methods are described herein which generally comprise a patch or strip affixed to the skin of the upper and/or lower eyelids to deliver heat or other forms of energy, pressure, drugs, moisture, etc. (alone or in combination) to the one or more meibomian glands contained within the underlying skin. The treatment strip or strips include one or more strips configured to adhere to an underlying region of skin in proximity to one or both eyes of a subject such that the one or more strips allow for the subject to blink naturally without restriction from the one or more patches. Moreover, the one or more strips may be configured to emit energy to the underlying region of skin and where the one or more strips are shaped to follow a location of one or more meibomian glands contained within the underlying region of skin.
