Abstract:
A liquid can be dosed advantageously using a syringe-like device, from a container fitted thereon, by means of a plunger mounted displaceably in a dosing chamber, this dosing chamber being connected to the container via a channnel passing through this plunger, a valve and a channel arranged together with the plunger in a connection tube.
Abstract:
The present invention pertains to improved manually operated atomization systems which combine atomizing nozzles with high pressure, pre-compression type pump mechanisms in order to provide a consistent, high quality, finely-atomized spray of a comparatively higher viscosity fluid. The pre-compression pump mechanism ensures that the product will only be delivered when sufficient pressure is available for atomization regardless of the speed or authority with which the pump mechanism is actuated. When the fluid is discharged from the nozzle in a swirling, conical film, the fluid is broken up into a finely-dispersed mist which may then be directed toward the surface to be coated. Pump mechanisms for use with the present invention incorporate specific design features which facilitate the flow of comparatively viscous fluids with reduced flow resistance and hence reduced pressure losses, as well as providing enhanced structural integrity to better withstand such operating pressures and forces while providing improved reliability. The combination of pre-compression and comparatively higher operating pressures ensures that the comparatively higher viscosity fluid will be delivered to the nozzle with a pressure (and hence a velocity) that is comparatively high and within a comparatively narrow range. This in turn ensures a finely-dispersed product spray with a comparatively narrow range of particle sizes, under a wide range of actuation circumstances.
Abstract:
A trigger-type device for operating a pump of the axial displacement piston type against a bias spring, sprays liquids out of a handheld container. The pump has a delivery head which is movable axially with the piston and provided with a delivery conduit set at an angle to the displacement axis of the piston and lying in the same plane where the angular movement of the trigger lever takes place. The device includes a rocker lever which converts the angular movement of the trigger lever into a corresponding axial displacement of the delivery head to thereby drive the pump piston against the bias spring and produce the spray.
Abstract:
A trigger actuated sprayer for dispensing liquid products featuring a movable hinge point for the trigger handle in the form of a flexure. The flexure allows a constant orientation for the spray nozzle to be maintained by accommodating changes in radial distance as the trigger handle is depressed, while decreasing the complexity and parts count of the overall structure. A sealing member is incorporated into the piston and the cylinder of the pump for the device to reduce leakage of the liquid product when the pump is not used or is inverted.
Abstract:
A pumping system is disclosed in which a storage compartment formed by a spring-loaded piston and cylinder assembly cooperates with a trigger actuated, spring loaded piston and cylinder assembly to store some product during a pressure stroke and discharge that product on a subsequent intake stroke to maintain a stream or spray issuing from the system. In a preferred embodiment, the trigger is part of a lever so constructed as to apply to the trigger actuated piston and cylinder assembly a force which is greater than the force applied to the trigger by the finger of a person. The lever projects outwardly beyond the outlet orifice of the pumping system and forms a ramp and opening for returning drips from the outlet orifice to the trigger actuated piston and cylinder assembly and ultimately to the container. The storage compartment preferably includes a strainer which strains product flowing through the storage compartment in order to inhibit clogging of the outlet orifice of the pumping system. A vent structure is also provided which includes a guide for guiding the trigger actuated piston and cylinder assembly to prevent distortion of a resilient seal of the vent structure.
Abstract:
A wearable fluid-dispensing apparatus that includes a flexible wristband coupled to and surrounding a wrist-arm area of a user, with the wristband having a frame disposed along an outer surface of the wearable wristband and at a ventral side of the user's wrist, an enclosed cartridge coupled to the frame for housing a fluid therein, and a fluid transfer conduit disposed within the enclosed cartridge for transporting the fluid from the enclosed cartridge to a nozzle port on a finger-activatable pump assembly coupled to the frame. The pump assembly defines a nozzle port disposed above a top end of the wristband and angled toward the user's palm, defining a fluid extraction passageway fluidly coupled to the nozzle port and the fluid transfer conduit, and operably configured to translate downwardly toward the fluid extraction passageway fluidly to generate a vacuum therein and emit the fluid on the user's inner hand.
Abstract:
A dispenser assembly for dispensing a liquid product includes a bottle configured to store the product, a venting pump connected to the bottle and configured to control dispensing of the product from the bottle, a mounting component, and an enclosure connected to the mounting component and engaging the bottle, wherein the enclosure is movable relative to the mounting component between an open configuration and a closed configuration, and wherein the bottle is selectively removable from the enclosure when the enclosure is in the open configuration.
Abstract:
A manually operated pump and a method for pumping a preferably cosmetic liquid are proposed in which actuation is performed either by manual linear actuation or by swiveling actuation using a lever mechanism. The pump can be equipped with a locking device that blocks actuation of the pump in the locked state. The delivery head of the pump can be integrally formed with the swivel lever. Moreover, components of the pump can advantageously be provided with a flexible or elastic layer.
Abstract:
A liquid sprayer apparatus includes a multi-chamber spray mechanism, with at least one chamber being adapted to accumulate pressurized fluid for dispensation over an extended time period. The liquid sprayer apparatus is capable of emitting a liquid spray over a period of time that is substantially greater than a manual pump action applied to the trigger.
