Abstract:
A method for patterning an article, the article comprising a first layer of a first material, the method comprising providing a thread carrying a first species, e.g. a solvent in which the first material is soluble, and contacting the thread with the first layer to remove at least part of the first layer.
Abstract:
Equipment and a method for changing a blade which is intended to be placed in a blade holder (10) and which is preferably arranged as a flexible band (16). The equipment has reels (14, 15) for keeping the band (16) reeled and transfer devices (18) for moving the band (16) in the blade holder (10) between the reels (14, 15). The equipment includes guide devices (17) for guiding the band (16) from a reel (14, 15) to the blade holder (10) and vice versa. The guide devices (17) are arranged to turn the band (16) longitudinally to be essentially parallel to the blade holder (10). The closest guide member (20) of the guide members (20, 20′) belonging to the guide devices (17) is rotated to a position that essentially corresponds to the position of the blade holder (10) turned to the blade-changing position.
Abstract:
This invention relates to coater blades which are employed in papermaking machines. Such structures of this type, generally, employ a continuous coater blade located across the width of the papermachine which provides a new section of blade at desired rates or intervals.
Abstract:
An apparatus for patterning an article that comprises a first layer of a first material. The apparatus includes a thread, at least one thread guide for guiding the thread such that at least a portion of the thread engages with the article, a unit for moving the thread relative to the at least one thread guide means, and a unit for applying a solvent to the thread before the thread contacts the article, wherein the first material is soluble in the solvent.
Abstract:
Powder spreaders suitable for use with layered manufacturing processes are disclosed in which a strip of flexible material of a width which spans the powder bed is used to spread, level, and, optionally, compact deposited powder to form a layer of the powder bed. The strip surface moves relative to the deposited powder it is spreading as the working portion of the strip, i.e., the portion of the strip that is in contact with the powder, traverses across the powder bed so that it can provide lift to the powder in front of it and, optionally, compaction to the powder below it. The working portion of the strip can be configured to have its leading and trailing surface contours to be different from one another, and, optionally, to have these contours and its bottom edge contour be independently adjustable. Layered manufacturing systems comprising such powder spreaders are also disclosed.
Abstract:
Equipment for changing a blade (43) in a coating device (51) changes several blades (43) arranged in a band (43). The equipment includes reels (11, 40) connected to the ends of the blade holder (45), for holding the reeled unused and used band (43); transfer devices (13, 20) for moving the band (43) in connection with the blade holder (45), and lifting devices (17) for lifting the band (43) up and lowering it into the blade holder (45). Indentations (44) at least the length of the hollow shaft (52) are arranged at regular intervals on the band (43), and are arranged to permit the blade (43) to be lowered into the blade holder (45).
Abstract:
The invention relates to band-like doctor blade assembly, a doctor blade and a method in the use of the doctor blade. The doctor blade assembly includes continuous and substantially infinite doctor blade that is placed in a reel, the doctor blade is then fed into a blade holder. The blade holder includes locking devices in its connection for locking the doctor blade in the blade holder. The continuous and substantially infinite doctor blade has a plurality of edge notches formed along an edge thereof and the doctor blade is fed over a length substantially equal to the distance between the edge notches, while the notches are placed, during the operation of the doctor blade, at both ends of the blade holder and permit bending of the continuous band-like doctor blade.
Abstract:
A doctor holder for a surface coating device or a web coating device has a guide body with a guide path channel through it. A leaf spring like doctor strip is advanced along the length of the channel and across the width of the web being coated. The doctor strip has a row of cutouts in it for enabling it to be advanced through the guide body. One of various forms of guide elements advance the doctor strip. The guide elements may be projections from an endless chain, or may be teeth of a sprocket wheel, or may be individual separate guide elements like balls and the guide elements extend into the cutouts and then into a guide groove in the guide body. The doctor strip is wound onto a reel after leaving the guide body. The guide element balls, or the like, are installed at the beginning of the guide path and are removed e.g. by an air blast, at the end of that path.
Abstract:
A coating device for a material web, such as a paper or cardboard web, is provided. A doctor band, serving as a doctor element, is run over reversing rolls in the form of a loop and along a backing roll that supports the material web. A doctor band drive is provided by take-up drums that can be driven by a motor. The feed of the doctor band is very low, for instance, 2 to 10 cm/min. This provides sufficient time for performing a thorough cleaning of the doctor band. The band may be cleaned by nozzles, scrapers and the like.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a production device for graphene thin film. The production device for graphene thin film according to the present invention may comprise a deposition plate in contact with a substrate at an obtuse or acute angle, wherein the substrate is coated with a graphene oxide solution; and a reciprocating linear motion device connected to the deposition plate to put the deposition plate into reciprocating linear motion.
