摘要: This invention teaches a multi-sensor quality inference system for additive manufacturing. This invention still further teaches a quality system that is capable of discerning and addressing three quality issues: i) process anomalies, or extreme unpredictable events uncorrelated to process inputs; ii) process variations, or difference between desired process parameters and actual operating conditions; and iii) material structure and properties, or the quality of the resultant material created by the Additive Manufacturing process. This invention further teaches experimental observations of the Additive Manufacturing process made only in a Lagrangian frame of reference. This invention even further teaches the use of the gathered sensor data to evaluate and control additive manufacturing operations in real time.

摘要: The invention relates to a computer-assisted method for generating a control data set for an additive layer manufacturing device. In a first step, a layer data set is accessed, wherein points are marked in the data model which correspond to an object cross-section and at which the bid-up material should be solidified. In a second step, the layer data set is modified in such a way that for at least a portion of the object cross-section, the number of beams required for solidifying the build-up material inside said portion is determined preferably automatically, according to quality specifications of the portion and/or a manufacturing time of the object. In a third step, the modified layer data set is provided as a control data set for the additive layer manufacturing device.

摘要: A three-dimensional modeling device models a three-dimensional object by irradiating a powdered material with an electron beam to melt and stack the powdered material. The three-dimensional modeling device includes a beam emitting unit that irradiates the powdered material with the electron beam by emitting the electron beam. The beam emitting unit irradiates the powdered material with the electron beam while scanning the electron beam in a direction orthogonal to a contour line of a modeling region in at least a contour portion of the modeling region that is a cross-section of the object.

摘要: A method of determining instructions to be executed by a powder bed fusion apparatus, in which an object is built in a layer-by-layer manner by selectively irradiating regions of successively formed powder layers with an energy beam. The method includes determining an exposure parameter for each location within a layer to be irradiated with the energy beam from a primary exposure parameter, the exposure parameters varying with location. An amount each exposure parameter varies from the primary exposure parameter is determined, at least in part, from a geometric quantity of the object derived from the location of the irradiation.

摘要: An additive manufacturing apparatus including a scanner for directing a laser beam on to layers of flowable material to selectively solidify the material to form an object in a layer-by-layer manner. The scanner includes an optical component operable under the control of a first actuator to reflect the laser beam over a first range of angles in a first dimension and the or a further optical component operable under the control of a second actuator to reflect the laser beam over a second range of angles in the first dimension, wherein the second actuator provides a faster dynamic response but a smaller range of movement of the laser beam than the first actuator.

摘要: The present invention has: a setting step for setting lamination patterns respectively for an outer edge portion and an inner portion of a shape indicated by shaping data; and an adjustment step for adjusting a forming sequence such that, during manufacturing when the lamination patterns are used to laminate and thereby form the outer edge portion and the inner portion, the height of the already laminated outer edge portion is higher than the height of the inner portion that is being newly laminated. In the lamination patterns, the orientation of the heat source when a region positioned at a boundary with the outer edge portion is formed is set so as to be inclined at a prescribed angle toward the outer edge portion in a plan perpendicular to a movement direction of the heat source.

摘要: A monolithic electrode structure for use in electrochemical flow cells is presented. The monolithic electrode structure includes a dense region with embedded flow channels that provides functionality of a flow field layer and a porous region that provides combined functionalities of gas diffusion and catalyst layers. The monolithic electrode structure is additively fabricated to include regions of different porosities/densities. A material of the monolithic electrode structure is a pure metal that is a catalyst for a targeted electrochemical reaction, or an alloy that contains such pure metal. Porosity of the porous region is adjusted to allow flow of liquid, such as water, towards or away from an active surface of the electrode. According to one aspect, porosity is adjusted by adjusting the pore size that make the porous region. According to another aspect, the dense region contains cooling channels for cooling of the electrode.
