    摘要: Flying shear apparatus is disclosed suitable for cutting elongated strand material as it moves in a predetermined path. The apparatus includes two crankshafts having eccentric crank pins on which knife holding portions are rotatably mounted, each knife holding portion being rigidly connected to one end of a link member the other end of which is pivotally connected to a movable member that reciprocates in a fixed path, both link members being pivotally connected to the movable member about a common axis. Furthermore, the apparatus includes means to permit individual adjustment of the angular position of a crankshaft relative to the other, to permit adjustment of the cutting blade clearance. The slidable member also acts as a guide for the strand material being cut. The arrangement provides positive control and synchronization of the relationships of the cutting blades relative to each other at all times.

    摘要: An apparatus for cutting a continuous web includes a disc-shaped rotatable blade member for cutting the continuous web by moving in an intersecting direction, while rotating about an axis of a rotating shaft, a regulating section for regulating a relative movement of the continuous web in the predetermined direction with respect to the rotatable blade member throughout a time during which the rotatable blade member is cutting the continuous web, and a reciprocating mechanism for moving both the rotatable blade member and the regulating section along a forward path and a return path. The forward path has an equal velocity region where both the rotatable blade member and the regulating section move at a velocity value equal to a transport velocity value of the continuous web. The rotatable blade member cuts the continuous web while moving in the equal velocity region.

    摘要: A segment cut core machine is disclosed. The core machine includes five basic process stations: a roll stand; a glue station; a paper feed; a take-up station; and a core cut station. The core cut station uses a vertically oriented cutting shear with a unique beveled two-piece flying blade. The flying blade has a beveled cutting face that cuts the core stock in opposite directions from the outer edges to the center of the sheet. The beveled cutting edge reduces the nullclose timenull of the shear and allows more core stock to be advanced into the shear. The take-up station includes a relatively flat horizontal deck and a gather adjustment gate that controls the character of the slack gathered in the sheet of core stock within the take-up station. The gate transverses over the sheet of core stock and can be shifted forward and back within the gather section of the take-up section to vary the wave length and amplitude of the gather form in the slack in the core stock. The position of the adjustment gate can be quickly and easily adjusted to address slight variation between the frequency of the shear and the speed of the paper feed.

    摘要: An interleaver for providing a sheet of paper for each piece of meat moving along a conveyor includes a trap door conveyor section for removing undersized pieces in response to measurements made by photo optical sensors. A knife crushes paper from a paper roll to sever a web of the paper into the sheets. A conveyor pulls the severed sheets from the knife, and air blower guides the web to the knife and prevents the next leading edge of the web from sticking to the knife. Two paper rolls are provided, one roll operating while the other roll stands by. Photo optical sensors monitor the feed from the rolls and switch the feed to the stand by roll if there is an interruption in the feed from the first roll. In addition, both rolls may operate together. A brake is provided for each paper roll, and each paper roll is fixed to a spindle which provides for adjustment of the position of the paper roll axially on the spindle.
