    摘要： This invention deals with package components for radiochemical sterilization of medical or pharmaceutical products consisting of a hermetically sealed foil pack containing (1) a solid device, as in absorbable sutures and meshes, in a perforated holder or a liquid formulation in a sealed, flexible dispenser, as in absorbable cyanoacrylate-based tissue adhesive; (2) a microparticulate, unstabilized polyformaldehyde as a source of radiolytically generated formaldehyde encased in a sealed pouch comprising a porous, non-woven or woven fabric; and (3) a nitrogenous compound capable of reacting with residual formaldehyde, such as melamine or urea, that is encased in a sealed pouch comprising a porous, non-woven or woven fabric.

    摘要： A package to be gas-sterilizable comprises a lower foil composed of a thermoplastic material and having an edge, an upper gas-permeable foil having an edge, the lower foil and the upper foil being connected with one another in the region of the edges, an intermediate gas-permeable foil arranged to protect the upper foil from a content of the package, located between the upper and lower foils and loosely extending over the upper foil, the intermediate foil being perforated and formed of thermoplastic material, the intermediate foil having an edge and upper and lower sides and being simultaneously connected by welding at the lower side with the lower foil and at the upper side with the upper foil only in the region of the edges so that a gas distributing chamber is formed between the upper foil and the intermediate foil, and means for connecting the intermediate foil with the upper foil and means for connecting the intermediate foil with the lower foil, the connecting means being formed so that the connection of the intermediate foil with the upper foil is stronger than the connection of the intermediate foil with the lower foil, so that in a closed condition of a package the intermediate foil extends loosely over the upper foil and is connected with the lower and upper foils only in the region of the edges to form the gas distributing chamber, but upon opening the package the intermediate foil is left at the upper foil.

    摘要： A flexible packaging laminate for a microwavable package has a built-in vent for steam. The vent is formed by an outer score line through the outer layer(s) of the laminate to define an outer flap, and a smaller-footprint inner score line formed through the inner layer(s) of the laminate, so that there is a marginal region of U- or V-shape bounded between the two score lines. A patch of pressure-sensitive adhesive is disposed between the outer and inner structures of the laminate such that PSA is present in the marginal region. Pressure exerted on the inner flap or plug created by the inner score line overcomes the PSA between the outer flap and the inner structure in the marginal region, causing the outer flap to be pushed out along with the inner flap or plug, thereby venting steam through the resulting opening.

The package may contain at least a liquid primary ingredient and a secondary ingredient and comprises at least one wall defining a chamber at least partially filled with the primary ingredient, an outlet for dispensing the prepared product, and a capsule surrounding the primary ingredient separating the secondary ingredient from the primary ingredient. The capsule may be attached to insides of opposing walls of the package such that as the opposing walls are moved further apart the capsule breaks. At least one of the ingredients may include a foaming agent such that the foamed product is produced when the capsule is broken and the primary and secondary ingredients mix.

The can top is shaped to define a groove between a lower inside edge of the rim of the can top and an upper surface of the can top. A groove cover is disposed to cover the groove along at least a portion of the groove that is located adjacent to the openable section of the can top. The groove cover prevents collection of debris in the groove. The groove allows the can top to be wiped clean without debris getting stuck in the groove by sloping upwards towards the top of the tim. The groove cover can also cover the rim and an upper portion of the can body. The groove cover provides a more sanitary drinking experience and serves as a marketing surface.
