The present invention is a valve for a container. The valve includes a grommet defining a channel with an inlet end and an outlet end. The valve has a stem, slideably arranged in the channel, and the grommet includes a first part provided at the inlet end and a second part provided at the outlet end. The first part has a hardness greater than the hardness of the second part.

A novel metering device (1) for dispensing a dose of a pressurized fluid is described. A dispensing valve body (3) is mounted in a fluid-tight manner to the lid (4) of a pressurized container (5), which circumvents a valve element (9). A valve delivery tube (10) is connected to the valve element (9). A chamber (13) surrounds the valve body (3), in which a piston (17) is reciprocable between an upper and a lower position, which define the dispensing dose. A clearance is provided between the piston (17) and the inner wall (23) of the chamber (13), such that pressurized fluid can flow into the chamber based on a pressure difference between the container (5) and the chamber (13), and the piston (17) is adapted to seal the valve body (3) when being in the upper position.

A spray actuator for an aerosol container, having at least one liquid to be dispensed there-from, has a valve actuator hinged mounted in the actuator body about a hinge axis, preferably at, or above, an intersection of the valve stem of the container valve and the inlet of a product passageway in the valve actuator, the product passage being connected to a spray nozzle. The valve actuator has both a trigger and a button, which enables operation of the spray actuator in any disposition of the container. Optionally, the spray nozzle is rotatable in the valve actuator to enable the major-axis of the spray fan to be rotated; and an optional locking assembly may be provided to selectively lock the valve actuator against operation.

A fluid dispenser device including a body, a reservoir, a dispenser head incorporating a dispenser orifice, and a dispenser member mounted on the reservoir by a fastener ring. The dispenser member includes a dispenser-member body and a movable member that moves axially in the dispenser-member body while the dispenser member is actuated. The device comprises a lateral actuator system that is secured to the body, the system including an actuator element that co-operates with the fastener ring, the actuator element being movable, substantially transversally to the direction of movement of the movable member, between a rest position in which the dispenser member is not actuated, and an actuated position in which the dispenser member is actuated. The fastener ring includes a top radial flange that extends radially outwards. The actuator element includes at least one radial projection having a top edge that comes into contact with a bottom edge of the radial flange during actuation.

An aerosol generator device has an elongate body with an interior passageway extending longitudinally to its mouth end. The device receives an interchangeable, pressurized canister charged with a nicotine containing liquid that is discharged in a metered dose on manual actuation of a button member that causes a valve in the canister to open and discharge through a discharge tube. A sleeve releasably couples the canister to the body. The button member is slidably mounted on the body for reciprocal movement along a trigger axis Y-Y′ extending transversely of the longitudinal axis X-X′ of the device, and has a manually depressible surface portion and a camming surface portion that drives a slidable nozzle member to press the discharge tube inwardly of the canister to open its valve and release liquid into the nozzle member. Nozzle forms an aerosol from the liquid, which is delivered to the consumer through outlets in the mouth end of the device.

An aerosol device for dispensing texture material for matching existing acoustical ceiling texture. The device comprises a container, a valve assembly, a dispensing nozzle, a hardenable material, and pressurized inert gas as a propelling mechanism. The hardenable material and pressurized inert gas are placed into the container. When the valve assembly is opened, the inert gas forces the hardenable material out of the container through the dispensing nozzle. The dispensing nozzle diverts at least a portion of the hardenable material exiting the container to develop a spray suitable for the application of the hardenable material onto the ceiling surface being textured. The hardenable material preferably comprises at least water, filler, binder, and polystyrene particles. The inert gas is preferably nitrogen.

A lever of an aerosol valve having a valve stem includes a lever member having first and second end portions, a first aperture disposed in the first end portion, and a second aperture disposed between the first and second end portions. The first aperture is configured to permit the lever member to be releasably received over a valve stem of an aerosol valve in a dispensing position, in which the second end portion extends outwardly from the valve stem to provide for pivotally displacing the valve stem to dispense product therethrough. The second aperture is configured so that the lever member fits in a stored position with the second aperture around a portion of the valve stem, and the first and second end portions extending alongside the valve stem, such that the lever member may be stored under a cover.

A cover and trigger assembly is provided that includes having a valve that can be actuated for dispensing the contents of the can through an outlet of the valve. The assembly includes an annular component having a helical surface is secured to the can, and a cover coupled to the annular component. The cover has an opening through which a trigger extends, and the cover is rotatable relative to the helical surface on the annular component for rotatably raising or lowering the cover relative to the annular component. The raising or lowering of the cover respectively prohibits or permits movement of the trigger member to actuate the valve, thereby controlling dispensing operation of the valve.
