Abstract: Disclosed is a curved belt conveyor, which comprises a curved belt between rollers, guide rollers supporting the inner peripheral edge of the curved belt, a driving roller set in the outer peripheral section of the curved belt, a pinch roller for pressing the forward run side of the curved belt against the driving roller, and a pinch roller for pressing the return run side of the curved belt against the driving roller. The pinch rollers are supported with their axial centers inclined with respect to the reference line. With the pinch rollers inclined to contact the curved belt, the outer peripheral section of the curved belt is driven towards the outside of turning, thereby preventing bulging and zigzag movement of the curved belt.

Abstract: A conveyor system for transporting articles up a steep gradient and having a continuous belt having article engaging lugs projecting from only the outer belt face. Conventional flat idler rollers are employed for turning the direction of the belt between the transport path and a return flight. A conventional flat drive roller is provided in the return flight between the first and second idler rollers with first and second segmented idler rollers directing the belt under tension in a wrap around the drive roller which engages only the back face of the belt with the lugs passing between segments of the segmented idler rollers.

Abstract: A belt and a belt conveyor are provided for transporting particulate material and especially oilseeds up the belt conveyor. The belt conveyor can include an intake end having a hopper, a discharge end, a body extending between the intake end and the discharge end and a belt. The belt travels along a travel path in the belt conveyor; the belt traveling through the hopper, up an upper run in the body to the discharge end, down a return run in the body, and back through the hopper. The belt can have a top surface having pairs of adjacent ridges provided on the top surface, each ridge having a pair of arms extending from a point, in a travel direction of the belt, wherein each pair of adjacent ridges define a v-channel on the top surface of the belt.

Abstract: A return roller assembly that is designed for use as part of a conveyor assembly to improve the ability to clean the conveyor assembly. The return roller assembly includes a roller shaft that extends between side walls of a conveyor frame. A plurality of support rollers are positioned along the length of the roller shaft to support a lower run of a continuous conveyor belt. A spacer is positioned between each of the support rollers to define the position of the rollers along the roller shaft. The spacer can be snapped onto the roller shaft and includes a series of standoffs that space the inner surface of the spacer from the roller shaft. A series of cleaning fins extend radially from the outer surface of the spacer and impart rotation to the spacer relative to the roller shaft during cleaning with a spray of water. The spacer can be formed from an extrusion cut to length.

Abstract: A continuous product-processing apparatus having a conveyor capable of repositioning product and cleaning itself of debris and a method for its operation. The apparatus includes a conveyor that transports products atop a conveyor belt along a carryway to a processing chamber. Upper and lower diverting rollers guide the belt along an S-shaped product-repositioning path segment of the carryway. The diverting rollers are rotated at a speed normally greater than the speed of the conveyor belt to cause the belt to slip on the roller's periphery, which effects a scraping action against the conveying side of the belt to dislodge debris from the belt and the rollers. One-way ratcheting drives or belt restricters positioned on the product-positioning path segment to limit belt excursion are used to prevent the belt from building up along the carryway and tightening in the lower return.

Abstract: Typical roller conveyors suffer from excess noise and frequent maintenance due to worn rollers and roller bearings. Continuous loop belt conveyors solve some of these problems, but still suffer from an inability to change the width of the conveyor belt without significant rework or adjustment. Although a narrower belt can be used without major adjustment, prior continuous loop conveyor systems still suffer from belt drift. To alleviate these problems, a belt conveyor system that easily adjusts to accommodate continuous loop belts of varying widths is provided. The system comprises a rigid conveyor frame having at least one pair of generally parallel side walls traversed by one or more support brackets. The support brackets are secured to the conveyor frame. Additionally, one or more belt guides, having at least one surface for guiding a conveyor belt, are secured to the support brackets. The system further comprises one or more belt supports each having a substantially horizontal surface for guiding the conveyor belt, wherein the belt supports are secured to the support brackets.
