Abstract:
A low molecular weight complex of a lactam and a hydroxy phenolic compound having the formula: ##SPC1##Wherein n is an integer of 3 to 5; W is hydrogen or alkyl having from 1 to 8 carbon atoms including cycloalkyl substituents; each R or R.sub.2 is alkoxy of from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, hydrogen, halogen, hydroxyl, nitro, cyano, carboxylamino, alkylhydroxy having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms or alkyl having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms, and wherein R.sub.2 can also be alaninyl or a hydroxy benzyl radical having the formula ##SPC2##Where R' is hydroxyl, cyano, alkyl having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, hydrogen or halogen and wherein at least one R or R.sub.2 is hydroxy when R.sub.2 is other than a hydroxy benzyl radical.
Abstract:
AN IMPROVED PROCESS FOR PRODUCING A LACTAM COMPLEX WHICH MAY BE READILY CONVERTED TO A CORRESPONDING LACTAM FROM AN ALICYCLIC KETOXIME COMPLEX BY REACTING SAID KETOXIME COMPLEX WITH A LACTIME-O-SULFONIC ACID METAL COMPOUND, AS A REARRANGEMENT REAGENT, OF THE FOLLOWING FORMULA (2)
(-O-SO2-O-C WHEREIN R1 IS AN ALKYLENE GROUP SUBSTITUTED ALKYLENE GROUP HAVING 3 TO 11 CARBON ATOMS IN THE MAIN CHAIN, M IS A METAL ATOM SELECTED FROM METALS OF GOUPS 11B, IIIA, IV AND VA OF THE PERIODIC TABLE, X IS A HALOGEN ATOM, N IS THE MAXIMUM VALENCY OF M AND IS A POSITIVE INTEGER OF 2 TO 5, AND P IS EQUAL TO N OR A POSITIVE INTEGER SMALLER THAN N.
Abstract:
A method is described for producing lactamates by reacting alcoholates with lactams, wherein a reaction mixture comprising at least one alcoholate and at least one lactam is subjected to thin film evaporation.

Abstract:
The invention concerns a method for purifying cyclic lactams containing 6 to 12 carbon atoms and containing chlorolactams as impurities, by hydrogenation reaction in the presence of a metal catalyst, a solvent and a compound having a radical —NH2, —NH— or —N
Abstract:
Disclosed are catalysts for the polymerization of higher lactam monomers. The catalysts comprise an essentially homogenic binary mixture of lauric-lactam and a salt of lauric-lactam.The inventive catalyst can be stored at room temperature without making special provisions to avoid any access of air and moisture.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are synthesis methods for generation of conjugated anti-microbial compounds and conjugated anti-cancer compounds. Several embodiments, related to the uses of such compounds in the treatment of infections, in particular those caused by drug-resistant bacteria. Some embodiments relate to targeting cancer based on the metabolic signature of tumor cells.
