Abstract: A capacitive proximity control device (28) for a domestic washing machine (10) or other domestic electrical appliance is proposed. In some embodiments, the proximity control device comprises two planar sensor electrodes (34, 36) arranged on a door (20) of the washing machine at a spatial distance from one another. An electronic assembly is connected to the two sensor electrodes, which electronic assembly is adapted to generate, in association with each of the two sensor electrodes, an electrical sensor signal which is representative of a change in a capacitance associated with the sensor electrode in question. By mutual correlation of the two sensor signals, the electronic assembly is able to determine a proximity operation of the control device. A shielding electrode can be arranged in the spatial region between the two sensor electrodes.

Abstract: A laundry treatment machine includes a water tank, a first laundry tub to accommodate first laundry, a second laundry tub that accommodates second laundry, and a locker provided in the second laundry tub to fix the second laundry tub. The locker includes a locking member that is configured to move from a first position to a second position by a centrifugal force when the second laundry tub is rotated, and engages with the first laundry tub at the second position to fix the second laundry tub to the first laundry tube, and an elastic member which is elastically deformed when the locking member is located at the second position and is restored to an original shape to return the locking member to the first position when the rotation of the second laundry tub is stopped.

Abstract: Disclosed are an operating mode determining method and an operating mode determining device for determining an operating mode of a clothing treatment apparatus using image information by executing an artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm and/or machine learning algorithm in a 5G environment connected for the Internet of Things. According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, the operating mode determining method includes obtaining first image information obtained by photographing clothing through a camera of the clothing treatment apparatus, obtaining second image information obtained by photographing an entrance and exit of a user wearing the clothing through a camera for monitoring an entrance and exit of a room, and determining an operating mode of the clothing treatment apparatus according to an analysis result of the first image information and the second image information.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a chemical dosing system for an appliance, such as a laundry washing machine or a dishwashing machine, having a water inlet, the system comprising a meter for determining the volume of water supplied to the appliance, a pump for dispensing a quantity of a chemical to the appliance and a control unit arranged to receive a signal from the meter and to cause to be dispensed to the appliance a volume of chemical that is proportional to the quantity of water supplied to the appliance. The disclosed system may enable a correct quantity of chemical to be automatically dispensed to many types of appliance, without the need to know anything about the appliance, or to derive electrical signal from the appliance.
