Abstract:
An elastic link for adjusting the distance between two members, at least one of which is mobile, is characterized in that it includes at least two elastic yarns each attached through one of the opposite ends thereof to two points distant from each other of an intermediate portion of a strap located between the extreme portions of the latter, under conditions such that when a tensile force is applied on said strap, the first elastic yarn is stretched first, the second elastic yarn being then stretched based on the magnitude of the applied tensile force.
Abstract:
An elongated steel element (12) with a martensite, tempered martensite, bainite or sorbite structure has a polymer coating (16) with a thickness lower than 20 μm immediately upon the elongated steel element (14). The friction coefficient and corrosion resistance are both improved by the polymer coating at a lower cost.
Abstract:
An annular metal cord includes an annular core portion and an outer layer portion. The annular core portion is formed by connecting together both ends of a first strand material which is made up of six twisted first metal filaments. The outer layer portion is formed by winding spirally a second strand material which is made up of six twisted second metal filaments around the annular core portion. The second strand material is wound at a predetermined winding angle relative to a center axis of the annular core portion, and a winding initiating end portion and a winding terminating end portion are connected together. As a result, the breaking strength of the annular metal cord can be made large, and the production thereof can be facilitated.

(on the low temperature side) and at least one endothermic peak over a temperature region of 148null C. or higher (on the high temperature side) or the number of frictions until the fiber is broken in an abrasion test according to method B for measuring abrasion resistance in the Testing Methods for Spun Yarn (JIS L 1095) is 100,000 or larger.
Abstract:
The invention provides a steel cord, the steel cord comprises two or more steel filaments, at least one of the steel filaments has a twist pitch of 6 mm to 40 mm, each of the steel filaments has a tip rise of less than 5 mm with a gauge length of 200 mm after being unravelled out of the steel cord. The invention steel cord has an improved straightness with reduced steel filament fracture risk.
Abstract:
A rope assembly comprises a rope, wherein the rope comprises a plurality of braided or twisted strands. The rope assembly also comprises an attachment structure formed of a polymer. The attachment structure defines an opening through the rope between the strands. The strands are fixedly held in the attachment structure by being encased within the polymer.

Multifilament yarn containing n filaments are provided, wherein the filaments are obtained by spinning an ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE), said yarn having a tenacity (Ten) as expressed in cN/dtex of Ten(cN/dtex)=f×n−0.05×dpf−0.15, wherein Ten is at least 39 cN/dtex, n is at least 25, f is a factor of at least 58 and dpf is the dtex per filament.
Abstract:
Ultra-High-Strength (UHS) wires are suited to high strength wire, strands, cables and rope applications including robotics force transmission and other high-performance mono- and multifilament wire applications. The wires exhibit high strength, low stretch and fatigue durability. Exemplary UHS materials include binary molybdenum-rhenium or tungsten-rhenium alloys with between 20 and 50 wt. % rhenium. These alloys are processed from a moderate strength (
