摘要： An anchor for attaching objects to a metal stud having a stud wall with inner and outer faces. The anchor has a cylindrical body having an inner end that is conical and an opening at its mid-portion. A plurality of fins extend from the anchor body adjacent the outer end, adapted to abut the outer face of a metal stud. A threaded bore extends along the longitudinal axis of the anchor body. A stud wedge is attached at its inner end to the anchor body by hinge means. The hinge means allow the stud wedge to be depressed into the opening during insertion of the anchor through a hole drilled through the wall of a metal stud, but forces the stud wedge upwardly after insertion of the anchor through the stud to lock the back side of the wedge against the inner face of the stud.

摘要： A fastener assembly which imparts, on a surface of a first structural element to be joined to a second structural element, joining forces at three or more radially equidistant regions isolated from the edge of an opening extending through the first structural element. An illustrative embodiment of the fastener assembly includes an apertured face plate, an anchoring assembly, and a positioner for causing relative axial movement between the face plate and the anchoring assembly. The anchoring assembly includes a base portion and a projecting portion that extends in an axial direction away from the base portion. The projecting portion of the anchoring assembly is sufficiently rigid as to restrict further movement of the base portion toward the face plate when the projecting portion initially contacts the first structural element, despite continued actuation of the positioner, and the projecting portion is sufficiently rigid as to prevent displacement of distal regions of the anchoring assembly from respective initial positions of contact with the radially equidistant regions on the first structural element--despite progressively increased exertion of a pulling force on the anchoring assembly by the positioner.

摘要： This expansion anchor consists of a cylindrical body having an axial bore therethrough and first and second axial ends. A wing support member extends from the first end of the cylindrical body and generally has a central cylindrical section shape. The wing support member has first and second opposed planar surfaces extending parallel to a central bore which is co-axial to and extends the axial bore in the cylindrical body. The first and second opposed planar surfaces of the wing support member join perpendicularly with the first axial end of the cylindrical body to form first and second recessed shoulder spaces, respectively, therewith. Formed as a part of the unitary plastic anchor are first and second expanding wing elements. These wing elements have a planar engagement surface which are hingedly connected to the wing support member along the planar surface of the wing support member such that the wing elements are movable from a collapsed, axial position to an open, radial position. The first and second expanding wing elements have shoulders disposed for being received in the recessed shoulder spaces when the first and second expansion wing elements are in their open position. In this manner, the first and second expanding wing elements are supported against axial movement beyond the open radial position by the first radial surface of the wing support element and by the first axial end of the cylindrical body.
