摘要： An apparatus and method for controlling user access to electrical receptacles and telephone and network communications receptacles. The device features a short range radio receiver and one or a plurality of RF energized radio identification tags with transmittable identification transponder codes. The receptacle contains circuitry that detects the immediate presence of energized transponders with proper identification codes and only enables the electric, telephone or network access from the receptacle to become active if the correct matching transponder identification code is present. The tag is a small flexible device having one side that may be attached to the plug or the receptacle or interfaced therebetween. Access to the power or network is allowed for a defined duration of time or only so long as the transponder remains energized and transmits the identification code.

A terminal connection pad is positioned at the rear face at each mounting surface, and a plurality of tines extend through the rear aperture and are positioned within the interior recess for access through the front aperture. Each tine has a flat contact end portion. A plurality of trace members positioned at the rear face, each electrically coupling together one of the terminal connection pads and one of the tines. The terminal connection pads, tines and trace members are formed as part of a stamped, thin, flat lead frame.

The jack hole cover includes a guide holder comprising a through hole for inserting the plug terminal and being fixed to the housing of the equipment, a slide cover comprising at least two pieces and being installed on the guide holder so that the pieces of the slide cover are outwardly stretched by an insertion force of the terminal, and elastic means for supporting the pieces of the slide cover prior to inserting the terminal into the through hole of the guide holder, thereby being automatically opened by inserting the terminal into the jack hole.

摘要： An enclosure is disclosed which is highly secure, permits access to a cabled network system only by one user at a time, permits visual and unequivocal observation of the security status of the enclosure, and prevents access to the interior thereof only by authorized persons. The enclosure has back, front and side walls and an interior, with all connections being internal. Limited interior access is provided only through a door and a service opening. Within the enclosure is a system connection device to the system, which is configured for access thereto by only a single user at a time. A lock secures door closure. Thus access to the cabled system through the enclosure is available only to one user at a time and must be obtained through the open door, with usage thereby being visually identifiable, and the door prevents unauthorized access.

摘要： A replaceable plug which provides voltage surge protector redundancy for use in a maintenance termination unit connecting a telephone company line to a subscriber telephone line. The plug includes connecting terminals for connecting input and output telephone lines to a switch within the plug, and a pair of surge protector circuits. The switch is wired so that it selectively connects one or another of two surge protectors between the input and output lines replacing an actuated protector with a back up protector and restoring telephone service to the subscriber. Associated with this device is a method of determining whether a telephone line fault is due to a protector actuation or in the line proper, and for restoring telephone service without having to send a service person to the location of the maintenance termination box, by providing surge protector redundancy and a switching arrangement whereby a protector is replaced in the line circuit by a switching action.
