Abstract:
A system and method for animal feed management for a dairy farm, include a feed management server configured to monitor activities of a plurality of entities in a defined area of the dairy farm by a plurality of sensing devices. The monitored activities include at least a free-style grazing activity by a plurality of dairy animals included in the plurality of entities. An amount of milk yielded by each dairy animal of the plurality of dairy animals is estimated based on the monitored activities. A feed composition for each of the plurality of dairy animals is determined based on the determined amount of milk yielded by corresponding dairy animal and the monitored activities. A loading device, which loads a feed container with the determined feed composition for the first dairy animal, is controlled to manage consumption of the feed composition by the first dairy animal.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a milk collecting device and a method for operating a milk collecting device, comprising a milk collecting vessel with an inlet and a controllable outlet and a measuring device, said measuring device comprising a first electrode and a second electrode at a separation from the first electrode, a power supply electrically connected to both electrodes and a measuring device for recording an electrical parameter. The power supply is connected to two connection points on the first electrode at a separation from each other such as to be in parallel with relation to the first electrode and connected to the second electrode by the measuring device in order to determine a characteristic measure for the filling level of a liquid in the milk collecting vessel.
Abstract:
A colostrum collection system for efficiently collecting colostrum from an animal. The colostrum collection system includes a vacuum pump, a receiver tube fluidly connected to the vacuum pump, and a container removably attached to the receiver tube for collecting the colostrum. The receiver tube has an upper opening that receives the teat of an udder in a sealed manner. The vacuum pump creates a vacuum within the receiver tube thereby drawing the colostrum from udder of the animal. The colostrum passes through the receiver tube and enters the container for storage during the collection of additional colostrum. When the colostrum is fully collected, the container is removed from the receiver tube for storage or immediate feeding to a newborn.
Abstract:
A method for shaping foodstuffs and the like, which improves operating efficiency and economic efficiency when a foodstuff, such as taro or aroid, is to be shaped to be spherical; and a device therefor. A shaping procedure using cutter blades (15) applied to process subject articles (A) to shape the surface of each of the process subject articles (A), wherein the process subject articles (A) and the cutter blades (15) are relatively moved and the process subject articles (A) can be held in a floating state when they are subjected to the cutter blades (15). Since the process subject articles (A) are maintained in a floating state, as soon as the process subject articles (A) come into contact with the cutter blades (15) to have their surfaces cut, the floating state or rotative state is imparted to the process subject articles (A) to some extent by the cutter blades (15), and such states are continued, whereby the surfaces are thoroughly cut to be spherical or the like.
Abstract:
A stable floor for animals which is in structural combination with a floor covering sheet having at least two layers: a compressible sublayer of a resilient and highly porous filamentary matting partly embedded in a top layer which is impermeable to moisture. The floor covering sheet provides good insulation and has dimensional stability so as to remain resilient over a prolonged period of time.
Abstract:
Loop-shaped dividers transversely connected to a pair of horizontal beams which are supported off the ground by means of vertical poles spaced at long intervals and having longitudinal rails pivotally mounted along an adjustable horizontal axis immediately adjacent the uppermost portion of the dividers.
