    摘要: A device for adjusting a brush roll relative to a work roll in roll stand, particularly a roll stand for hot-rolling of aluminum includes pivotable supports mounted on both sides of the brush roll. The brush roll is rotatable in a direction opposite the direction of rotation of the work roll. The brush roll is displaceable in translatory movements parallel to the work roll. The pivot bearing of each brush roll support is arranged on a work roll chock, wherein the support includes a pivoting lever which is located between a controllable actuating element and a restoring support element. The actuating element is mounted in the balancing block or bending block of the roll stand and the support element is mounted in the chock.

    摘要: A block type rolling mill has a plurality of roll stands arranged along a mill pass line, each roll stand having at least a first pair of work rolls mounted in cantilever fashion on a first pair of roll shafts. The first roll shafts have first pinion gears which are separate from each other and in meshed relationship respectively with one of a pair of intermeshed spur gears carried on a pair of intermediate drive shafts, with one of the intermediate drive shafts of each roll stand being coupled to one of two line shafts extending in parallel relationship to the mill pass line. At least one of the roll stands is provided with a second pair of work rolls mounted in cantilever fashion on a second pair of roll shafts. The second pair of roll shafts have second pinion gears which are separate from each other and each in meshed relationship respectively with one of the intermeshed spur gears of the at least one roll stand.

    摘要: A seamless tube-like blank is formed and cut into single annular parts which consecutively are profiled by means of two tools having the shape of solids of rotation. During the profiling operation, the specific surface pressure on the inside and on the outside of the workpiece is equal. Preferably, an inner profiling roller and an outer annular profiling tool is used, the mutual distance thereof being variable. Simultaneously, the inner roller acts on the workpiece with its convex outer surface, and the outer annular tool acts on the workpiece with its concave inner surface. Thus, the effective surface pressures on the inside and on the outside of the workpiece are equal during processing thereof. The apparatus is equally well suited for the manufacturing of steel rims and aluminium rims.

    摘要: A setting device for adjusting the position of a roll with respect to a mating roll, as in the press section of a paper machine, or the like. A roll trunnion or journal at the end of the roll is received in a bearing which is supported in a bearing housing that is axially outward of the roll. The outer part of the bearing is in turn supported to an actuator which is shiftable to move the roll transversely of its axis with respect to the mating roll. A base plate hydraulically supports and raises the actuator for the bearing housing. A guide plate supported to the base plate extends past the roll trunnion or journal. Linear motion guide elements for guiding the motion of the bearing housing under the influence of the actuator are provided. They are guide claws on the bearing housing which wrap around the guide plate and move along it. An additional actuator piston operates on the roll trunnion or journal to move it in the opposite direction from the actuator.

    摘要: An adjustable hydrostatic machine is connected to a pressure line with impressed system pressure. The pressure difference applied at the machine is set at a control valve so that the stroke volume of the machine in idling operation is set to an adjustment belonging to a predetermined load torque. In idling operation the machine is thus operated at large stroke volume with small pressure difference. If it is then necessary to furnish the load torque a switching valve is opened so that at the machine the full pressure difference is immediately applied, the machine can furnish the desired torque and the time loss necessary for setting the machine is eliminated.

    摘要: A rolling mill system for the continuous rolling of metal strip or strand into a strip of predetermined thickness and straightness is disclosed. The system includes a frame in which two metal working rolls are mounted in such a way that both the distance or nip between the rolls and the tilt of one roll with respect to the other may be regulated by two gap adjusting devices mounted in the roll frame on opposite sides of the centerline of the metal strip. At least one of the gap adjusting devices is operated responsive to a signal representing a measurement of the straightness of the strip product. The gap adjusting devices are hydraulic assemblies wherein each piston is affixed to a piston rod and each piston rod is affixed at its opposite end to a chock block in which the movable roll is carried. A position indicating rod which constitutes part of a position transducer is affixed to the opposite face of each piston to allow for monitoring of the actual distance between the two rolls at each end thereof. The motor drive from one roll is mounted on a door forming part of the roll mill frame to allow for free access to the rolls and chocks. The straightness or camber of the strip product is monitored and the tilt of the movable roll with respect to the other roll is controlled responsive to signals representative of variations in camber.
