    摘要: A foam extrusion assembly having a melt region which receives and melts a plurality of material pellets, an agent addition assembly which adds a foaming agent to the melted material pellets, and a mixing assembly which substantially mixes the melted material pellets and the foaming agent with one another. The mixing assembly includes a generally elongate barrel through which the melted material pellets and the foaming agent are urged generally from an inlet to an outlet of the barrel. Furthermore, the mixing assembly includes a mixing plug in disposed in the barrel and structured to define at least two sequentially disposed flow passages along a length thereof, the flow passages, which are structured and disposed to receive the melted material pellets and the foaming agent therethrough so as to define a flow path past the mixing plug, each have at least one substantially small transverse dimension so as to restrict amounts of the melted material pellets and the foaming agent which enter the flow passage at one time, and are generally short in length so as to minimize a duration of a flow restriction at the flow passages. As a result a well homogenized extrusion mixture is provided and is passed at an extrusion temperature through a die which forms the extruded foam product.

    摘要: Low-density, high service temperature polymer foam is extruded by heating a crystalline polymer resin above its crystalline melt point to melt the resin, selecting a blowing agent combination, combining the blowing agent combination with the resin to create a mixture, cooling the mixture to a temperature approaching a freezing temperature for the mixture, and extruding the foam through a die. The blowing agent combination is made up of 50 to less than 100 mole percent of a first blowing agent having a boiling temperature at STP of greater than 310° K, and more than 0 to 50 mole percent of a second blowing agent having a boiling temperature at STP of less than 310° K. The blowing agent combination has an equilibrium solubility vapor pressure in the polymer of less than 45 atm at the foaming temperature and greater than or equal to 1 atm at the glass transition temperature.

    摘要: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for producing a crosslinked foamed article. Such a method comprises the steps of: (a) uniformly mixing at least one crosslinkable resin, at least one crosslinking agent, at least one foaming agent, and some additives into a resin composition; (b) extruding the resin composition through a die into an extrudate of a predetermined shape; and (c) heating the extrudate to a temperature sufficient to cause crosslinking and foaming of the crosslinkable resin while being driven by a driving device to move in the extruding direction, thereby obtaining a crosslinked foamed article. By means of the present invention, the resin extrudate can progress smoothly through the heater or the mold.

    摘要: A release-controlled pipe and a related manufacturing method comprise several main steps, which are mixing a formulation, first hot melt extrusion and cooling, grinding into pieces, second hot melt extrusion, molding and cooling. The present invention includes the steps of first mixing elastomer pellets and a binder, then pouring the formulation into a melt extruder for extruding and shaping a rod-like extrudate. Then the rod-like extrudate is ground into pieces and placed into a water-filled container and another dry container. The mixture of dry ground pellets, wet ground pellets including water, and a small amount of lubricant is poured into a melt extruder for extruding, and a release-controlled pipe is shaped via a pipe die head and gathered by a winder after cooling.
