摘要: A trolley for the overhead transportation of loads on a monorail consisting of a framework comprising: a pair of sides (11) which are rigidly interconnected in their upper portion by a pair of respectively front and rear flanges (12) and, in their lower portion, by a bracket (13) carrying a bar (19) for suspending a load. There is pivoted between the flanges (12) through the intermediary of a pivot (15) a wheel (16) serving to translate the trolley on a monorail (18). It is also possible to pivot guide wheels (20) cooperating with the monorail (18) so as to achieve a stable guidance of the trolley on it.

摘要: An amusement ride has an endless path defined by a rail from which the vehicle is suspended by a strut which, at its upper end, is swingable in a deformable frame on a yoke which is likewise pivotal on this frame and carries stirrups by which brackets are pivotally mounted in the carriage. The brackets carry the running and guide rollers. A pair of air springs in the form of bellows cylinders is braced between the strut and the yoke.

摘要: A track member for use in a track arrangement of a power driven overhead trolley conveyor apparatus, each track member including an upper enclosure which receives wheels of trolley load support members of the apparatus, and an integral lower enclosure which encloses an endless drive chain of the apparatus. The track members are longitudinally joined to form a continuous overhead track arrangement which encloses the trolley wheels, as well as the chain support portion, of trolley members riding therealong.

摘要: To permit attachment of a suspended track without drilling of holes lfor installation and connection to support elements (25), the track has an upper hollow structural section (2), for example in essentially semi-circular shape with depending vertical sections (10), a similar lower hollow structural section (2) joined by a connecting web (3), the sections in the web are unitary, the web being of generally horizontal C-shape in cross section, with a generally vertical back portion (11), mutually converging or approaching forward portions (5) which are bent over themselves to form diverging wing portions (6) leaving a groove-like gap (4) therebetween, the ends (7) of the portions (5) and the diverging wing portions (6). Hanger elements (25) can be longitudinally positioned by clamping the hanger elements against internally positioned clamping bars or plates (27), permitting longitudinal alignment by relative sliding of the clamping bars within the C-shaped chamber. Electrical connection bus ways and the like can be applied at the side opposite the gap by snap clips (22) snapped over the web (3) where it is rounded to form the C-shape.

摘要: A suspended railway has a fixed tower spaced horizontally from a fixed station. A suspension cable is slung between this tower and the station and a plurality of horizontally spaced upright hangers depending from this cable support a suspended section of a horizontally extending track also having a fixed section secured in the station. As a car travels along the track it vertically deflects the track from an upper unloaded position to a lower loaded position. A substantially rigid guide beam projects from the station between the track and the cable toward the tower and has a lower guide surface bearing downwardly on the track in the unloaded position thereof. Thus as the car approaches the fixed section of the track at the station the suspended section is pulled downwardly away from the guide beam.

摘要: A rail having an upper supporting edge and a lower braking edge, and a traction unit for riding on the rail and adapted to be connected to a carrier so as to suspend the carrier from the rail. This traction unit has a power-driven wheel to ride on the rail upper edge, and a plurality of braking wheels positioned close enough to the lower edge of the rail to prevent the traction wheel from jumping off the upper edge thereof, and a brake system for each brake wheel. A substantially C-shaped arm is pivotally connected to the traction unit near the top thereof and extends downwardly and around the rail and has a lower end extending across the plane of the rail, to which the carrier is connected.

摘要: Apparatus is provided for supporting load bearing, sharply curved girders, particularly for use in a transportation system. The sharply curved girders are supported only at their ends, even for those of substantial length, so as to reduce the number of vertical supports for the girders. This is achieved by providing a relatively short cross-support for the girder extending from the vertical support through the girder at each end thereof, with that cross-support or console having one end bearing on the vertical support and the other end forming a portion of a pivot bearing positioned on the inside of the curve of the girder. A crossbeam rigidly connected to the vertical support also extends transversely of each girder end and forms the opposite portion of the pivot bearing. Thus, torsional forces tending to twist the outside of the curve of the girder downwardly under load is compensated by the pivot bearing which provides a twisting force in the opposite direction.

摘要: An overhead track assembly forming an aerial runway for transporting goods, such as meat, has a pair of downwardly open channels constitute support rails which are hung on yokelike hanger brackets from an overhead support. One leg of each rail is received in a groove in each bracket and a setscrew is tightened in the bracket to clamp this leg in place. The other leg of each rails define with the facing rail a gap down through which extends the hanger arm of a trolley whose rollers each ride on one of the rails. These other legs may be chamfered so as to permit lateral displacement of the hanger arm and this hanger arm has at least one roller engageable with the other legs to insure ease of riding. The rails are formed of a plurality of in-line rail sections whose ends are secured together by connecting pieces between the legs. One of the legs is formed with an inwardly directed ridge and the connecting piece is formed to snugly engage in the space between the two legs of the rail and be clamped in place with a setscrew.

摘要: A monorail car is suspended from pneumatic tired wheels riding on the rail. The rail comprises a plurality of tubes secured spaced apart by web members secured thereto at spaced intervals along the rail. A pair of upper tubes are spaced horizontally and have downwardly and inwardly sloped top surfaces on which the sides of the tire treads rest. Low-friction pads on either side of a lower tube are attached to the car and can slide along the side of the lower tube to prevent side sway. A heated or cooled liquid or gas may be pumped through each of the tubes so expansion joints are not needed.
