摘要: A two-stage fuel regulator, adapted for operation in any orientation and over a wide temperature range, which includes a pressure limiter, a fuel vaporizer, a low pressure cutoff and an on/off switch. The first stage includes an inlet from a fuel storage tank where the fuel is maintained in a two-phase system of liquid and vapor. The tank inlet opens to one side of a diaphragm having a throughgoing hole surrounded by an annular valve face. A space on the other side of the diaphragm defines an expansion chamber. By adjusting the biasing force with which the valve face abuts a valve seat, the expansion chamber pressure may be maintained to be less, by a predetermined pressure difference (e.g., 1 psi), than the tank pressure, whereby vaporization of all fuel in the expansion chamber is assured. Additionally, whenever the tank pressure drops below the predetermined pressure difference (e.g., when the fuel supply is low or in a cold environment), passage of fuel into the expansion chamber is prohibited. The second chamber contains a second biased diaphragm coupled to an additional valve face and seat to limit the pressure at which gas is supplied for consumption. The additional valve face and seat may be manually controlled through an on/off switch.

摘要: A manual actuator for a motor driven control valve has a fork-shaped lever-type actuating means pivotally mounted on a single valve motor support stud passing between the legs of the fork-shaped actuating means. One end of the legs of the fork-shaped actuating means is formed as a cam surface to transmit a valve actuating force to a cam support attached to a valve stem driven by the valve motor. The other end of the legs of the actuating means are each rotatably attached to respective external trunnions on an internally threaded nut threaded on a threaded control rod. One end of the control rod is attached to a handwheel while the other end of the control rod is held in a ball and socket connection supported on the valve stud and spaced from the pivot for the actuating means.

摘要: A liquid sampling device having, a tubular section of flexible material having a wall defining a lumen for passage of liquid. The device has a flow control element including a rigid valve member positioned in the lumen of the tubular section, with the valve member having an outer sealing surface sealingly engaging against an inner surface of the tubular section. The tubular section deforms when squeezed from opposed directions against the valve member to permit passage of a liquid sample between the valve member and an inner surface of the tubular section.

摘要: A valve body is provided with a transverse bore for fluid flow therethrough with a lateral bore intersecting the transverse bore for receiving a valve element therein for opening and closing the transverse bore. The valve element has a stem connected thereto that is connected to a valve operator supported on the valve body which valve operator positions the valve member or element to open or close the transverse bore in the valve body and thus control flow through the valve. First seal means are mounted in the lateral bore to close off one end thereof and for sealably engaging the valve stem. Second seal means mounted in the lateral bore sealably engage the valve stem and are exposed to fluid from the transverse bore so that a predetermined force is exerted to move the element as it moves to close the valve. Third seal means are mounted on the valve stem which sealably and slidably engages the lateral bore and the cross-sectional area of the valve stem and third seal means is larger than the cross-sectional area of the valve stem where it sealably engages the second seal means. Fluid passage means in the valve stem receives fluid from the transverse bore on the upstream side of the element and discharges it between the first seal means and third seal means to aid in moving the element when opening the valve. A shaft is threadedly supported in the valve housing and upon rotation it engages the piston to move the valve operator so as to position the valve member within the valve body for flow therethrough; thereafter the threaded shaft may be backed off from the piston. Plunger means are mounted in the housing and is urged exteriorly thereof when the valve element is in a position so that flow may be conducted through the valve body so as to indicate the position of the valve member or element within the body.

摘要: A control panel for use with a pneumatic control system has a plurality of openings on one face of the panel positioned relative to guide means on the panel so that an operator can temporarily cover up the openings by sliding a closure member, guided by the guide means, over the face of the panel to cover up in turn the openings beneath the path of travel of the closure member. The member is conveniently the operator''s finger. By closing the openings, pneumatically operable switching components forming part of the control system are actuated. The components are pneumatically connected to the openings on the panel at a postiion away from the face of the panel.

摘要: A valve has a housing provided with an inlet for pressurized fluid, a valve seat having a seating surface, and a valve member exposed to the incoming pressurized fluid and having a cooperating surface juxtaposed and normally in engagement with the seating surface. At least one of these surfaces is provided with a shallow recess in which a conduit terminates which communicates with the inlet so as to admit into the recess sufficient pressurized fluid to lift the valve member off the valve seat. A control valve is interposed in the conduit and can be operated to permit the flow of pressurized fluid therethrough and into the recess.

摘要: A pressure regulating valve adapted to receive high pressure fluid from, for example, a bottle of compressed gas and to direct this gas at a substantially constant pressure to accomplish, for example, a function such as pressurizing or inflating a life raft, bag or other device. The valve comprises a housing defining a front regulating chamber, a middle high pressure chamber and a rear spring retaining chamber. Within the housing is a valve element comprising front and rear piston members joined by a rod. In the closed position of the valve the front and rear piston members close, respectively, the front and rear ends of the high pressure chamber, with a compression spring in the spring retaining chamber urging the valve element to a forward position. The valve element is retained in its closed position by an overcenter toggle mechanism mounted in the housing adjacent the high pressure chamber, with the forward end of the toggle mechanism bearing against the housing, and the rear portion of the toggle mechanism bearing against the valve element. When the toggle mechanism is pulled out of its toggle position, the spring moves the valve element forwardly to open the front end of the pressure chamber to the regulating chamber. The pressure in the regulating chamber acts on the forward end of the valve element to balance the force of the compression spring and thus control the pressure in the regulating chamber. A high pressure inlet opening communicates laterally into the high pressure chamber, and a regulated pressure outlet opening extends laterally from the regulating chamber.
