摘要: A digital electronic communication system for use in a mobile unit such as a law enforcement vehicle provides a comprehensive, modular communications system supported by an on board CPU. The system provides audio, video, graphic, text and positioning communication capability and incorporates scanners and readers such as bar code readers, magnetic strip readers and fingerprint scanners to permit enhanced on site investigation and investigation support. Multifunctional displays, a recording system and a full function printer further enhance the functional capability of the field personnel. Global positioning signals are integrated into the system to permit location and heading detection and monitoring.

摘要: An alert system for providing an alert of an actual or impending emergency to homes, businesses and the like. The alert system is used in cable system network over which communication signals are transmitted to a receiver remote from the transmitter. Such communication signals have associated therewith at least one distinguishable modulation frequency. The alert system includes a mechanism for receiving an alert request and a transmitter for transmitting an alert signal in response to the alert request. The transmitter is coupled with the cable system and generates an alert signal which is modulated at a frequency distinguishable from the frequencies of the communication signals. The transmitter includes a sideband filter to reduce the subharmonics generated around the alert signal frequency. The receiver includes a mechanism for detecting a valid alert signal from the alert signal received and for generating an alarm signal therefrom. The alert system also comprises an alarm indicator connected to the receiver providing an alarm upon receipt of an alarm signal.

摘要: Disclosed is a specific location public alert devices that require no specialized installation and may be plugged into any common household electrical outlet which provides power to the device so no switch is required to access power. The device requires no switch for the user to activate the device and its alert which is activated by an incoming transmission from an authorized authority with access to a transmitting source in the specific area of the device(s) such as cell phone towers or transmitting vehicles and activates any number of devices within one home and or all homes simultaneously and the alert may be a tone, light, or voice. The device may be mobile and be able to be removed from the electrical outlet and powered by replaceable or rechargeable batteries at remote locations, cigarette lighter adaptor within a vehicle, or electrical outlet at any location desired. The device may be pre set to one or more predetermined common frequency that may be determined by the civil authorities or the transmission provider. The device may receive such a frequency by a transmitted signal to the devices in any location world wide by means of a locale authority authorizing or transmitting a signal on such an emergency frequency from specifically located transmitters in the specific location or path of the public emergency or as a warning may be dictated.

摘要: A multi-station RF thermometer and alarm system measures temperatures and/or percent relative humidity at remote locations by RF weather stations, and displays received temperature and/or other weather data telemetry on a multi-station base station that provides out-of-bounds alarm signal indications whenever temperatures are outside of user-selectable minimum and maximum values. Randomized transmission times in one embodiment and two-phase unique transmission schedules in another lessen the possibility of on-going collisions between two or more transmitters contending for the base station at the same time. Redundant data transmission lessens the possibility of environmental noise interference. The redundant data, transmitted at random times in one embodiment, includes a unique channel ID code, house-keeping data, the current temperature and/or time-to-next-transmission data, and in another embodiment, transmitted at uniquely prescheduled times of two-phase transmission schedules, includes station location ID and transmission schedule phase. The weather parameter sensing transmitters operate at a low duty cycle with low peak current consumption resulting in long battery life. The multi-station ase station may be AC- or battery-powered. Channel and station ID switches are provided on the remote temperature sensing transmitters and on the multi-station base station in one embodiment and a station ID number selection switch is provided in another transmitter embodiment.

摘要: An apparatus, method, and data structure for providing personal security, including a sophisticated system of component technologies designed to provide automatic detection and communication of its wearer's distress to appropriate emergency help regardless of the user's location on Earth. The device will appear to be a piece of attractive, though inexpensive jewelry. For those situations where the user is either the subject of the distress situation but has the luxury of time and wherewithal to explicitly initiate the process, or where the user is a witness to a non-user's personal distress situation, the system will also allow its user to manually initiate the distress resolution process through manipulation of a four-button sequence. The inverse will also be true—the user will be able to manipulate a different four-button sequence to cancel a distress resolution process in progress. Analogous to an insurance policy, the apparatus will provide “automatic coverage” for the situations and at the times that the user least expects to need it.

摘要: A communication path integrity supervision system is provided in a network system that allows communication of automatic alarm data. This involves a network, needless to say, in which a plurality of automatic alarm data transmitters are linked by diverse paths with at at least one central receiver on the network for receiving the automatic alarm data. In this integrity supervision system, the responsibility for carrying out the integrity supervision functions have been largely shifted onto the remote transmitters—each responsible for its own path or paths—and shifted away from the central receiver to the extent required by the prior art “receiver-polling” protocol. That is, each transmitter includes circuits for generating and sending to the central receiver a succession of “next promised check-in” messages, to be on schedule as promised. The central receiver responds to the reception of each such message by updating a table of such messages, scheduling or rescheduling the promised occurrence for the next check-in message as applicable to that particular remote transmitter. The central receiver is further configured with an alert signal for signaling whenever any remote transmitter fails to meet its scheduled or rescheduled next promised check-in. Given the foregoing, the integrity of the communication paths are supervised.
