    摘要： A wildlife guard assembly for an electrical insulator body includes at least three guard members serially connected to one another such that at least one of the guard members is moveable relative to the others. Each of the guard members has a respective shell body. The guard members are selectively movable between an open position, wherein the guard members are configured to receive the insulator body, and a closed position, wherein the shell bodies of the at least three guard members collectively form an enclosure defining a chamber to receive the insulator body such that at least a portion of the insulator body is enclosed by the enclosure.

The suspension insulator comprises a silicone rubber umbrella string and a fiber-reinforced resin-based composite rod, wherein the silicone rubber umbrella string is arranged on the fiber-reinforced resin-based composite rod. Since the umbrella string is made of silicone rubber and is arranged on the fiber-reinforced resin-based composite rod, as compared with porcelain suspension insulator or glass suspension insulator, it has a low density and a light weight, and may reduce the load of the tower and is convenient to install and remove. The suspension insulator provided by the present disclosure is especially applicable to the field of power transmission.

    摘要： A tool is disclosed that is useful for manipulating the cotter keys that secure the connections between insulators in a high voltage transmission line. In a preferred embodiment, the tool (10) comprises an arm (12) having a first end (14) adapted for connection to a handle (40), and a second end (16) that includes an insert (30) projecting towards the first end. The insert is adapted for insertion into the passage in an insulator so as to engage the split end of a cotter key for partial removal of the cotter key. In a further embodiment, the second end of the tool includes a flange (32) having a concave surface (34, 36) adapted to engage the rounded end of a cotter key and push it back into an insulator.
