    摘要: When authorized, a user of a computing device, such as a smart phone, may associate a telephone number that is assigned to a computing device with other computing devices. The other computing devices may or may not have an assigned device number. A user may also select to use the same number as the originating number of an electronic device. For example, a user may specify that each computing device associated with the user utilizes the same telephone number. The user may also specify that a computing device not utilize an assigned number. The associations of a device number with the computing devices may be stored as implicit registration data and/or as hunt groups.

    摘要: A communication system and method for routing communications can include a communication device that is configured to route a communication connection based on empirical data relating to an attempted communication. For instance, in some embodiments the device of a communication system can be configured to utilize stored and classified empirical data for automatically determining a subject of an attempted communication made by a user via the user's communication terminal and dependencies the user for that attempted communication may have on a callee for use in establishing a connection for the caller based on the determined dependencies and determined subject of the attempted communication. Information regarding the determined subject of the communication attempt can be based on the stored empirical data. The attempted communication can also be rerouted to another user based on the empirical communication data if that attempted communication is not established within a pre-selected time period.

    摘要: A system and method for determining an order in which to communicate with a list of numbers and/or addresses for a particular contact is disclosed. Each caller that communicates with the contact may specify a different order for the contact's various phone numbers and other addresses. A communication management system may then automatically dial the numbers or use messaging addresses to initiate data communications in the specified order when the initiating party attempts to communicate with the contact. The order may specify simultaneous and/or sequential use of numbers or addresses. Alternatively or additionally, the communication management system may dynamically and/or automatically determine the communication order or a portion thereof. The automatic determination of the order may be based on a communication history or communication receiving of the initiating party. In some arrangements, the order may be partially manually defined and partially automatically defined.

Each of these video calling devices determines its presence status based at least on its network connection type, its login status for a video calling service, and its camera status and provides the presence status to the video calling service. Each video calling device also receives presence statuses of other video calling devices. This exchange of presence statuses enables initiation of video calls between the video calling devices.

    摘要: Techniques are disclosed for using voicemail fingerprints to detect when a call has been answered by voicemail. A voicemail fingerprint of a known voicemail greeting is stored in association with a telephone number. The voicemail fingerprint contains a set of audio analysis streams, each of which contains audio characteristics of the known voicemail greeting beginning at a different offset from the beginning of the known voicemail greeting. A current audio analysis stream is generated containing audio characteristics of audio received beginning when a call to the telephone number is answered. If the current audio analysis stream matches one of the audio analysis streams contained in the voicemail fingerprint of the known voicemail greeting associated with the telephone number, the call to the telephone number has been answered by a voicemail box of the telephone number, and may be transferred to a secondary destination.
