摘要： The invention contemplates a machine having serial-number printing capability and comprising a first plurality of print wheels which are serially indexed for each of a succession of input actuations. An indexing pawl has a second plurality of spaced wheel-indexing pawl elements, one for each of a corresponding second plurality of adjacent print wheels. The number of print wheels is greater than the number of pawl elements, and the pawl is mounted for selective longitudinal placement so as to coact with a desired particular second plurality of adjacent print wheels. The print wheels incorporate the feature of selective removal from printing exposure, so that printing need only involve digit indicia on print wheels requisite to serial-number printing at the selected longitudinal region of pawl action.

摘要： The printer has a plurality of printing rings each rotatably supported by a swingable layer pivoted about a pivot axis so as to be swung in an arcuate path around the pivot axis while it is rotated by a driving source about its own axis so that the printing rings are selectively swung toward and against a platen upon receipt of printing character selection command from the control circuit of the printer so as to print onto a paper held therebetween when the selected one of the characters on the respective printing ring is brought to a position for the printing during the rotation thereof. The driving source for the rotation of the printing rings is controlled by pulses so that the rotation about the axis of the respective printing ring is rendered to be intermittent and the swinging of the respective swingable lever for the printing operation is effected during the time the respective printing ring is held stationary in its intermittent rotation thereby insuring exact printing operation of the selected characters.

摘要： Printer having swingable printing rings which are selectively swung against a platen to print a line of selected characters on a paper by selecting a desired character from a plurality of characters provided on the periphery of each printing ring during the rotation thereof about its axis. Each printing ring is rotatably supported on a swingable printing ring supporting lever which is in turn swingably supported on a driving shaft. A plurality of driving gears are secured to the driving shaft and each of the driving gears meshes with a gear integral with the respective printing ring so as to rotate the same about its axis for selection of a desired character during the rotation thereof. Each printing ring supporting lever is urged by a spring so as to move the printing ring thereon apart from the platen. A plurality of driving levers are swingably supported on the driving shaft and each driving lever is engaged with the respective printing ring supporting lever.

摘要： In a serial printer having a single type wheel, the type wheel is rotatably supported on a rocking frame, which is rockable relatively to a fixed frame, so as to be fixed with respect to the direction of the axis of rotation, and is rotated by means of a single drive motor. A drive transmission mechanism between the motor and the type wheel includes a main shaft rotatably supported by the rocking frame and a main cam rotatable in one with the main shaft. Each revolution of the main shaft and the main cam is divided into at least three rotational angular ranges, which are allotted individually for operation processes of type selection, printing, and sheet feed. All these processes are executed with use of the single drive motor as a drive source. A sheet holding mechanism continuously maintains a paper hold state until a specific character, such as an end mark, is printed after the start of a printing cycle. A printing sheet is held and released by means of the aforesaid drive motor as the drive source. The sheet feed pitch is adjusted in accordance with another specific character, such as a comma, and a sheet feed mechanism for the adjustment is driven by means of power transmitted through the main cam.

摘要： A printing unit particularly intended for price labelling machines, comprising annular printing wheels supporting matrices at their outer periphery and equidistantly spaced notches at their inner periphery into which notches engages a rod to advance the wheels to forward the desired matrix to printing position. The printing pressure is obtained by an impact rod striking a shoulder formed on a pressure arm, the movement of which is transferred to the associated printing wheel forcing the intended matrix thereon against the place of printing. As the printing wheel is stationary during the printing operation the resulting print is sharp and clear.
