摘要: An optical assembly 140 for a portable device for detecting molecule(s) within reaction vessels 110 comprises a collimator 403, a beam splitter arrangement and a plurality of guide arrangements 143. The collimator 403 collimates an excitation beam from an excitation source 400. The beam splitter arrangement splits the excitation beam from the collimator into a plurality of split excitation beams. Each beam splitter splits an incoming beam into two beams. In the case where the beam splitter arrangement comprises more than one beam splitter, the beam splitters are arranged in tiers such that a first tier comprises one beam splitter for receiving the excitation beam from the collimator, and each of the other tiers comprises one or more beam splitters. Each beam splitter in at least one of the other tiers receives a split excitation beam from a previous tier. Each guide arrangement 140 guides a respective one of the plurality of split excitation beams along an excitation path A from the beam splitter arrangement into a reaction vessel 110 containing a sample to stimulate an emission of a reaction light from the sample. Each guide arrangement 140 further guides reaction light from the sample along a detection path B towards a detector arrangement 142.

摘要: A sensor for monitoring CO2 in a fluid regardless of the phase properties of the fluid, i.e., regardless of whether the fluid contacting the window is a liquid water-based phase, a liquid oil-based phase, a mixture of liquid water and liquid oil-based phases, or a gas phase. The sensor includes an internal reflection window for contacting with the fluid. A mid-infrared light source directs a beam of mid-infrared radiation into the window and the beam is internal reflected at an interface between the window and the fluid. The reflected beam is passed through three narrow bandpass filters which preferentially transmit mid-infrared radiation over bands of wavelengths corresponding to absorbance peaks of water, oil and CO2. The amount of CO2 is determined from the intensities of the mid-infrared radiation passing through the three filters

摘要: A method of imaging a sample container and/or a specimen in a sample container. The method includes enclosing at least a portion of a sample container with a moveable hood, the moveable hood having a wall with one or more openings extending between an interior of the moveable hood and an exterior of the moveable hood. Image data of the sample container is generated using one or more imaging devices positioned exterior to the moveable hood. The one or more imaging devices have a line of sight to the sample container through the one or more openings. Automated specimen testing systems, optical characterization apparatus, and methods of measuring characteristics of sample containers are provided, as are other aspects.

摘要: Embodiments of the present disclosure address problems presented by contaminants, such as dirt and debris, by providing an optical apparatus with techniques and methodologies for self-cleaning. In that regard, embodiments of the present disclosure employ techniques and methodologies for maintaining a very thin (e.g., few microns thick) layer of liquid, such as a non-stick liquid, on an optical window of an optical body that shields or protects an optical device.

摘要: A water analysis device having a light source and a light detector for detecting an optical parameter of a water sample in a transparent measuring cell is disclosed. A ventilation circuit for ventilating a cell chamber is provided, wherein there is a differential pressure of at least 2.0 mbar between the cell chamber and the atmosphere when a ventilation pump is operated. The device housing forms the cell chamber which is fluidically sealed by a cover assembly. The cover assembly and the device housing have a mechanism that mimics the sealing action of a turn-lock fastener, such that the cover assembly can be secured to and/or released from the device housing by means of a rotational movement. The cover assembly and the device housing form an annular ring seal which is coaxial with the rotational movement and which is formed by an elastic sealing body having a circular sealing lip and a correspondingly circular shoulder seat on which the sealing lip is pressed due to the atmospheric differential pressure. Other aspects are disclosed and claimed.

摘要: A gas sensing apparatus (48) comprises a gas sensor arranged to use light to sense presence of a gas; an optical element (12, 40) arranged so that said light impinges thereon; and a thermoelectric heat pump (2, 24) having a cold side (6, 36) and a hot side (8, 34). The thermoelectric heat pump (2, 24) is configured to transfer heat energy from said cold side (6, 36) to said hot side (8, 34) in response to a supply of electrical energy provided to the thermoelectric heat pump (2, 24). The hot side (8, 34) of the thermoelectric heat pump (2, 24) is in thermal contact with the optical element (12, 40).

摘要: A purge system includes a purge gas distribution manifold that includes at least one port through which light beam from an optical metrology or inspection head is transmitted. The purge gas distribution manifold includes a bottom surface having one or more apertures through which purge gas is expelled. The bottom surface is held in close proximity to the top surface of the substrate and the apertures may be distributed over the bottom surface of the purge gas distribution manifold so that purge gas is uniformly distributed over the entirety of the top surface of the substrate at all measurement positions of the substrate with respect to the optical metrology or inspection head.

摘要: Systems, methods, and software that measure a plurality of error values each related to a different condition of an aquatic environment monitoring system including a degradation in a chemical indicator due to photo-aging, a degradation in a chemical indicator due to water-aging, a physical contamination of a chemical indicator, an illumination imbalance related to an optical reader, a degradation of a light source of an optical reader, a contamination in water between an optical reader and a chemical indicator, a displacement due to friction between a chemical indicator apparatus and a monitoring unit, an error intrinsic in a chemical indicator, and an error in distance between a chemical indicator and an optical reader. The plurality of error values are used to determine a confidence level that is compared to a threshold value associated with the monitoring system. A correction instruction is generated for correcting one or more of the conditions.

摘要: An optical measurement cell including first and second translucent members, which sandwich an internal space storing test liquid, are configured so that light incident on the first translucent member passes through the internal space and is emitted from the second translucent member. The cell includes a first holding member that holds down the circumference of a light transmission area on an outward surface of the first translucent member; a second holding member that holds down the circumference of a light transmission area on an outward surface of the second translucent member; and seal members that are respectively interposed between the first translucent and holding members and between the second translucent and holding members. In addition, areas excluding parts of surfaces of the respective translucent members are coated with coated films, and the end parts of the coated films are positioned on light transmission area sides of the seal members.
