    摘要: An apparatus includes first and second microphone arrangements, arranged to output first and second signals respectively and is operable in a first mode and a second mode. In the first mode, an output signal is generated based on the second signal and a third signal, where the second signal and, optionally, the first signal, can be used to compensate for ambient noise, for example, for noise cancellation when a telephone call is relayed through a speaker. In the second mode, an output signal is generated based on the first and second signals. In this manner, the combination of the first and second microphone arrangements provides a directional sensitivity that can pick up sound from a remote source, for example, in an audio or video recording session. The apparatus may include a sensor to allow automatic switching between one or more of modes, directional sensitivity patterns and types of recording session.

    摘要: The present invention creates a method, apparatus and system by which a telephone unit volume control provides instantaneous coupling to and controlling of a connected telephone unit's microphone gain and noise cancellation circuitry. With this invention, an increase in the volume control on the first unit, will result in an automatic adjustment of the second unit's microphone gain control. This microphone gain adjustment is an amount corresponding to the adjustment of the volume of the first unit. The noise cancellation circuitry on the second unit is adjusted to filter more of the background noise before transmission instead of after the receipt of the signal at the destination telephone.

    摘要: The invention provides a method for making a selenium-carrier conjugate by covalently attaching (i) an organic selenium compound selected from the group consisting of RSeH, RSeR, RSeR', RSeSeR and RSeSeR', wherein R and R' are each an aliphatic residue containing at least one reactive group selected from the group consisting of aldehyde, amino, alcoholic, carboxylic, phosphate, sulfate, halogen or phenolic reactive groups and combinations thereof, to (ii) a carrier having a constituent capable of forming a covalent bond with said reactive groups of said selenium compound to produce a selenium-carrier conjugate which is capable of specific attachment to a target site. The carrier may be a protein, such as an antibody specific to a bacteria, virus, protozoa, or cell antigen, including without limitation, cell surface antigens, a peptide, carbohydrate, lipid, vitamin, drug, lectin, plasmid, liposome, nucleic acid or a non-metallic implantable device, such as an intraocular implant or a vascular shunt. The attachment of selenium compounds of the configurations described above to carriers when presented to either endogenous thiols, such as glutathione which occurs in all aerobic living cells, or exogenous thiols, such as glutathione or cysteine, produces superoxide (O.sub.2..sup.-), hydrogen peroxide, the hydroxyl radical (.OH) and other cytotoxic reactive oxygen species so as to collectively form a localized free radical pharmacology based upon the catalytic selenium anion, RSe.sup.-.

    摘要: A communication terminal device carries out data processing based on key or touch panel operations and provides a telephone conversation function. When a key is actuated, a key input confirmation sound is generated. When data input is performed on the touch panel with a pen, a pen impact sound caused by striking the touch panel with the pen and a pen frictional sound caused by rubbing the touch panel with the pen are generated. In the telephone conversation mode, the key input confirmation sound, the pen impact sound, and the pen frictional sound are picked up as noises by the microphone. Upon detecting such noises, the communication terminal device generates noise canceling signals corresponding to the respective noises and cancels each noise from a voice signal input from the microphone. Thus, a voice signal free from noises is transmitted.
