    Abstract: A slider has a drum with alternating alpha and beta grooves, first stacked pulleys, and second stacked pulleys. First and second end pulleys are at opposite ends of the slider. A line wraps as a loop from the last beta groove, around the first end pulley, to the last alpha groove, back and forth around the first stacked pulleys, off the first alpha groove, around the second end pulley, to the first beta groove, back and forth around the second stacked pulleys, and back to the last beta groove. When the drum or the end pulleys are driven, the difference in circumferences of the grooves causes the slider to move toward one of the first or second end pulleys.

    Abstract: A trailer is disclosed which includes a first door with a first hinge configured to allow the first door to operate between an open position and a closed position, and a second door on the opposing side of the trailer with a second hinge configured to allow the second door to operate between an open position and a closed position. The trailer also includes a roof and a trailer tongue with a coupling configured to attach to a hitch of a vehicle. Two or more wheels are provided that are extendable from an up position to a down position. In this way, when the wheels are in the down position, the trailer is lifted off the ground. The trailer can thus change between at least three modes, including a first mode for storage, wherein the first door and second door are in the closed position and the wheels are in the up position; a second mode for ingress and egress, wherein at least one of the first door and second door are in the open position; and a third mode for travel, wherein the first door and second door are in the closed position and the wheels are in the down position.

    Abstract: The disclosure provides a device for automatically opening and closing a pair of curtains that includes a rod with a longitudinal hollow space. The device also includes a first and second threaded shaft housed within the hollow space. First and second gears are attached to the first and second threaded shaft, respectively. The first and second gear intermesh, so that, when the first threaded shaft rotates in a first angular direction, the second threaded shaft rotates in an opposite second angular direction. The device also includes first and second threaded nuts, threaded onto the first and second threaded shafts. A motor is provided to rotate the first threaded shaft in the first angular direction and simultaneously rotate the second the shaft in the opposite second angular direction.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a system suspended above a platform for growing plants and raisable as the plants grow taller. The system includes a movable frame with an air mover system and grow lights mounted to the movable frame. The system also includes a hoist that suspends the movable frame over the plants and is configured to raise and lower it relative to the plants by winding a line onto and off of the hoist. Also, a power cable is carried by the hoist and coupled to the air mover system and to the grow lights to provide electrical power to at least one of the air mover system and the grow lights. The power cable is windable onto and off of the hoist. The system may also include water misters mounted to the movable frame.

    Abstract: A winch with a spool having an axis of rotation and a helical groove formed thereon and a line around the spool in the helical groove. The winch also includes a motor configured to rotate the spool in a first direction to wind the line on the spool and a second direction to unwind the line from the spool. The helical groove includes a line cradle shaped to carry the line with a portion of the line protruding from the helical groove, and a channel extending below the line cradle. A portion of the channel is not occupied by the line. The winch also includes a line guide adjacent to the spool and configured to move axially along the spool. The line guide includes a tab that engages the channel to cause the line guide to move axially along the spool to wind or unwind the line.

    Abstract: A storage system is described, having a rectangular platform adapted to be raised and lowered. The platform includes a top surface configured to support one or more items to be stored, a bottom surface, a first side, and a second side opposite the first side. The system also includes a first bracket, with an upper portion attached to the first side of the platform and a lower portion extending below the bottom surface. The lower portion of this first bracket is shaped in such a way as to provide a first surface on which a portion of an additional item rests. The system also includes a second bracket, likewise with an upper portion attached to the second side of the platform and a lower portion extending below the bottom surface. The lower portion of the second bracket is also shaped in such a way as to provide a second surface on which a portion of the additional item rests. In this way, the first and second brackets cooperate to support the additional item below the platform. In another aspect, the second bracket is replaced with at least one clip.

    Abstract: An automated window mechanism has a motor that moves a sliding window along a frame to open and close the window. A position sensor, such as an encoder, monitors a position of the sliding window relative to the frame. The automated window mechanism can receive an instruction to calibrate to the frame by disengaging the motor while the position sensor remains engaged. The user then manually moves the sliding window between two end points and then reengages the motor. The position sensor records the end points, and then the automated window mechanism uses the end points as limits of movement for the sliding window.
