Abstract:
A toner composition for electrostatic charge development having high cleaning property and inhibiting wear of a photoreceptor, filming and deletion. The toner composition comprises toner particles and fluorine-containing cerium oxide fine particles added to the toner particles. The fluorine content of the fluorine-containing cerium oxide fine particles is from 0.1 to 10% by weight. The toner composition is used in an image forming process comprising the steps of (a) charging a latent image carrier, (b) forming an electrostatic latent image on the latent image carrier, (c) developing the electrostatic latent images with a developing agent to form a toner image, (d) transferring the resulting toner image to a receiving material, and (e) removing a toner remaining on the latent image carrier.
Abstract:
A keyboard musical instrument selectively generates acoustic sounds and electronic sounds depending upon a mode selected by a player, and has a hammer stopper for interrupting hammers before strikes at strings and an escape accelerator for accelerating an escape of a jack from the hammer assembly in the silent mode earlier than an escape in the acoustic sound mode, thereby preventing the hammer assembly from capture between the jack and the hammer stopper without deterioration of the piano key touch.
Abstract:
A piano has a regulating button mechanism so as to cause a jack to escape from a hammer assembly, and the regulating button mechanism has a first regulating button and a second regulating button with which the jack is selectively brought into contact; and the jack imparts a force variable in dependence on the regulating button to the hammer assembly so as to generate loud or soft tones.
Abstract:
There is provided a method for manufacturing organic fertilizers by fermentation of a mixture of livestock excreement with cellulose containing organic materials, said mixture containing thermophilic and aerobic microorganisms, which method comprises adjusting moisture content of said mixture to 25-75 wt %, cutting and kneading said mixture until the temperature thereof goes up to 40.degree. C.-90.degree. C. by the elevated pressure and friction caused by said cutting and kneading, thereby causing thermophilic organisms to be activated, followed by pulverizing the thus-treated mixture while contacting it with air, thereby causing the aerobic organisms to be activated.
Abstract:
A tricyclic compound represented by the general formula (1) and salts thereof are disclosed. ##STR1## A method for producing the tricyclic compound and salts thereof, and an antimicrobial agent containing the tricyclic compound and salts thereof as an active ingredient are also disclosed.
Abstract:
There is provided a continuous method for manufacturing of organic fertilizers by fermentation of a waste containing organic materials or mixture of said waste with cellulose-containing organic materials in the presence of thermophilic and aerobic microorganisms comprising the steps:a. adjusting the moisture content of said waste or mixture to 45-65 wt %,b. shearing and kneading said waste or mixture at a temperature elevated to 40.degree. C.-90.degree. C. by the pressure and friction of said shearing and kneading, whereby thermophilic microorganisms are caused to be activated, andc. pulverizing the thus-treated waste or mixture while contacting it with air, whereby said aerobic microorganisms are caused to be activated, the improvement which comprises subjecting a part of the product of step c. to fermentation by thermophilic microorganisms at a temperature of higher than 40.degree. C. for more than 5 hours, and recycling the thus treated product with fresh raw materials to step a., the recycled amount of product of step c. being 5 to 60 weight % of the total amount of manufactured product.
Abstract:
A toner for developing an electrostatic charge image is disclosed, which is formed by adding and mixing an external additive with toner particles having an average particle size of not larger than 9 .mu.m and comprising at least a colorant and a binder resin, wherein the external additive is fine particles having a particle size of 20 to 80 nm. There is also disclosed a process for preparing the toner which comprises adding external additives to the toner particles and mixing them, wherein the addition and mixing of said external additive are carried out under specific conditions.
Abstract:
A method for fixing a full color toner image by inserting a transfer medium to which a toner image is transferred, between a pair of rolls of a fixing apparatus, and pressing the medium therebetween, wherein the toner image is formed of a full color toner prepared by dispersing a colorant into a polyester resin containing a diol component represented by the following general formula (I) as a constituent and having a softening point of 100.degree. to 120.degree. C., as measured by a ring and ball method, a glass transition temperature of 55.degree. C. or more, a Gardner color scale of 2 or less and a haze value of 15 or less, and the fixing operation is conducted while supplying a functional group-containing organopolysiloxane having a viscosity of 10 to 100,000 cs at 25.degree. C. to a roll in contact with the toner image, whereby the full color toner image can be stably fixed without wrapping of the transfer medium around the roll and offset, and the fixed image having good image quality can be obtained: ##STR1## wherein R represents an ethylene group or a propylene group, each of x and y is an integer of 1 or more, and x+y is 2 to 6.
Abstract:
A thermocouple assembly for a continuous casting mold. The assembly includes a hollow body one end of which has external pipe threads whereby the hollow body may be sealingly threaded into a threaded cavity provided in the outer surface area of the mold wall. The hollow body is sealed in the water jacket by means of a sleeve received over the hollow body. A seal is placed between the hollow body and the sleeve and a second seal is placed between the water jacket and the hollow body. A constantan thermocouple is received in the hollow body and is maintained in direct contact with the mold by either a compression spring or by being threaded into the mold.
Abstract:
A blood sample collecting device includes a vacuum blood sampling chamber having a blood container disposed therein, and a vacuum pump for evacuating the vacuum blood sampling chamber to collect a blood sample into the blood container under a vacuum developed in the vacuum blood sampling chamber. The amount of collected blood in the blood container, and the vacuum in the vacuum blood sampling chamber is lowered below a preset pressure on the condition that a rate of increase in the measured amount of collected blood does not reach a predetermined normal rate of increase.
