Abstract:
A radar reflector operating device for indicating an emergency position, capable of permitting a victim to indicate his location by means of a radar reflector even when he is dropped into seawater without a life jacket, easily actuating the radar reflector by pulling or pressing a switch even when low seawater temperature dulls a victim's consciousness and senses of fingers, arms, etc., maintaining an operation of the radar reflector due to safety means even without sustenance of power by a victim that applies power in a predetermined level to operate the radar reflector, allowing an appropriate reflection section and distant recognition by preventing the radar reflector with hydrodynamic wings from being lowered due to wind, etc., and securing a victim, who cannot swim, against dangerous environments by rendering him to use the radar reflector as a life buoy, holding the wings by hands to float on the sea.
Abstract:
By mooring or slowly moving the catamaran in a current through which a garage patch formed of disused plastic particles over than 90% is drifting, a heap of the marine debris flows into the bow of the catamaran and then is smashed. While the disused plastic particles that have been smashed at the bow of the catamaran is moving from the bow toward the stern by way of the tunnel between hulls of the catamaran, the plastic particles are first classified by differences of densities. These first classified plastic particles are collected and then transferred into a narrow and long inside of the catamaran, being finally classified by a triboelectrostatic action. Thereafter, these finally classified plastic particles are made to be pallets which are to be transported to a land facility for recycling or abandoning them.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a Thermococcus onnurineus NA1 mutant having an increased ability to produce hydrogen from formate and a method of producing hydrogen the same. The Thermococcus onnurineus NA1 mutant according to the invention has an increased ability to produce hydrogen in a formate-containing medium compared to wild-type Thermococcus onnurineus NA1 and shows an increase in growth rate compared to the wild-type. The use of the mutant strain according to the invention can produce hydrogen with high efficiency from formate.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a robot for mining a manganese nodule on a deep sea floor. The apparatus includes a plurality of moving apparatuses detachably disposed in parallel with each other; a mining apparatus installed to a front end of the moving apparatuses to mine a manganese nodule; a transferring apparatus installed to an upper portion of the moving apparatuses to crush the manganese nodule in a constant size or less such that the manganese nodule is transferred to an external; a power control measuring unit installed to an upper portion of the moving apparatuses for providing power to the moving apparatuses and controlling operations of the mining apparatus and the transferring apparatus; a structure frame for connecting the moving apparatuses to each other and for supporting the mining apparatus, the transferring apparatus and the power control measuring unit; and a buoyancy unit installed to a top end of the structure frame.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a hexapod walking robot having a robot arm combined with a leg and a plurality of joints. The hexapod walking robot having a robot arm combined with a leg and a plurality of joints includes a robot body; a plurality of legs installed to the robot body such that the legs have various degrees of freedom; and at least one grip unit installed to at least one of the legs such that at least one grip unit is foldable.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to marine medaka genes responding to the exposure of endocrine-disrupting chemicals, and a method for diagnosing an aquatic eco-system contamination using the marine medaka genes. Specifically, the method for diagnosing an aquatic eco-system contamination, according to the present invention, makes use of marine medaka genes of which the expression amount changes according to 17β-estradiol, or marine medaka genes of which the expression amount changes according to bisphenol A. Since it was verified that genes of marine medaka exposed to 17β-estradiol are changed or genes of marine medaka exposed to bisphenol A are changed, the present invention can be used in a useful manner for a microarray chip in which marine medaka genes responding to 17β-estradiol or marine medaka genes responding to bisphenol A are integrated, for a diagnosis using same, and for a method for diagnosing health or detecting stress of a marine eco-system by applying a kit having the microarray chip.
