摘要: Superhydrophobic films can be prepared from a stream of plastic waste (i.e., derived from post-consumer and/or industrial waste) by a method comprising: dissolving first semi-crystalline polymers in a solvent to form solution1; pre-heating a solid substrate to below a boiling point of the solvent; applying solution1 onto the substrate using spin-casting to obtain a porous blended-polymer layer with fragile structure; annealing the porous blended-polymer layer to above the melting point of the first semi-crystalline polymers to strengthen the porous blended-polymer layer's internal structure by closing pores and decreasing surface roughness, thereby obtaining a strong non-porous base support layer; and dissolving second semi-crystalline polymer in a solvent to form solution2; pre-heating the non-porous base layer to a temperature below a boiling point of the solvent; applying solution2 onto the non-porous base layer to obtain a top porous layer crosslinked with the non-porous base layer; and peeling off the freestanding superhydrophobic film.

摘要: The present invention relates to a process for obtaining a dialkyl phthalate and a reusable target PVC plastic from a PVC feedstock containing at least one phthalate, including:
a) a solid-liquid extraction of said PVC feedstock in the form of particles by placing said particles of the PVC feedstock in contact with a solvent including at least one alcohol CnH2n+1OH with n 8, to produce a liquid phase enriched in said phthalate and a solid phase including PVC plastic depleted in said phthalate;
b) transformation of said phthalate of said liquid phase into dialkyl phthalate of formula C6H4(COOCnH2n+1)2 by transesterification using said alcohol;
c) a solid-liquid separation between the solid phase and the liquid phase to produce at least one solid stream including the PVC plastic depleted in said phthalate so as to obtain said target PVC plastic;
d) a liquid-liquid separation of the liquid phase, to produce at least a first liquid effluent including said dialkyl phthalate and a second liquid effluent comprising said solvent.-

摘要: One embodiment provides a modular green roof tray, house plant growth media and horticulture growth media, and a tree protection mat for weed and moisture control made from recycled disposable diapers. The growth medium and tree protection mat contain superabsorbent materials from diaper that can absorb waters and greatly reduce irrigation so to provide a drought resistant feature. One embodiment also provides a manufacturing process to perform 100% recycling of disposed diapers.

摘要: Method of treating complex films, comprising at least a first single sheet of a polymer, preferably PET, a second single sheet of a polymer, preferably PE, and at least one layer of adhesive, preferably EVA or acrylic. The sheets are in flake form and are separated by subjecting them to a first stirring bath in hot water with at least one dicarboxylic acid and at least one fatty acid, preferably oxalic acid and oleic acid; plus a second stirring bath with a caustic agent, preferably caustic soda, and a surfactant. The PE and PET films are separated by at least one densifying bath. The PET films are then treated by means of a stirring bath, a drying silo and a foreign particle separation machine. After each bath, except between the two densifying baths, the flakes are passed through a centrifuge.

摘要: Techniques for managing production and reuse of a recyclable material are disclosed. Combination of markers introduced into one or more ingredient material components of recyclable materials are used to indicate one or more properties of at least one of the ingredient material components e.g., a type of material used, percentage of the material type in the recyclable material, and suchlike. A signal obtained from a product comprising the recyclable material can be processed to detect presence or absence of the combination of markers therein. Based on the detection of the combination of markers, information indicative of the one or more properties of the at least one ingredient material component is determined, and based on the information it is decided either about a suitable recycling process for reusing the at least one ingredient material component, or a suitable disposal process for disposing the product.

摘要: Processes and facilities for using one or more PET-containing materials as a feedstock to a chemical recycling facility, and in particular a solvolysis facility, are provided herein. The PET-containing materials used as feedstock may comprise a quantity of PET-containing solidified purge material. The PET-containing solidified purge material may be derived from various processes and facilities, including PET reclaimer facilities, manufacturers of PET articles, and/or a polymer manufacturing facilities. For example, he purge material may be the solidified purge material from an extrusion and/or pelletization process. Such solidified purge materials are generally undesirable or unusable to mechanical PET recycling facilities, and typically are sent to landfills and/or incinerators. However, the processes and facilities described herein make use of the PET and other plastics present in these otherwise undesirable or unusable solidified purge materials.

摘要: The present invention provides a method of promoting separation of polymer bonded to a substrate of different material, which collectively form at least part of a polymer composite structure, the method comprising: (1) contacting the polymer composite structure with a composition comprising organic solvent which is absorbed within one or both of the polymer and substrate, wherein the composition comprising organic solvent does not dissolve either the polymer or the substrate, and (2) contacting the polymer composite structure provided in step (1) with liquid (i) having a temperature higher than the boiling point of the composition comprising organic solvent used in step (1), and (ii) that does not dissolve either the polymer or the substrate, the action of which promotes separation between the polymer and the substrate.
