    Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes a first polarization plate, a first birefringent film atop the first polarization plate, an optically compensated bend mode (OCB-mode) cell atop the first birefringent film, a refractive film atop the OCB-mode cell, a second birefringent film atop the refractive film, and a second polarization plate atop the second birefringent film. With this structure, any phase retardation of polarized light occurred during the propagation of the polarized light from the first polarization plate to the second polarization plate is compensated by the first birefringent film, the refractive film, and the second birefringent film and a substantially cross-shaped radiation pattern of full viewing angle is obtained in an actual measurement at the light outgoing surface of the liquid crystal display device, proving the liquid crystal display device has effectively improved the problem of restricted viewing angle and provides good optical performance.

    Abstract: A read reference circuit for a sense amplifier within a chalcogenide memory device is disclosed. The read reference circuit provides a reference voltage level to the sense amplifier for distinguishing between a logical “0” state and a logical “1” state within a chalcogenide memory cell. In conjunction with a precharge circuit, the read reference circuit generates a selectable read reference current to the sense amplifier in order to detect the logical state of the chalcogenide memory cell. The precharge circuit precharges the bitlines of the chalcogenide memory cell before the sense amplifier detects the logical state of the chalcogenide memory cell.

    Abstract: An LCD apparatus and a driving method thereof are provided. The LCD apparatus includes a reference voltage line and a display area including scan lines, data lines and pixel structures. Each pixel structure is electrically connected to the corresponding scan/data line, and has a first pixel area and a second pixel area. The first pixel area includes a first liquid crystal capacitor with one end electrically connected to a common voltage.
