Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may identify a full-duplexing rule that indicates to refrain from using a transmission dropping rule for transmission direction conflicts that occur between uplink and downlink transmissions in a same symbol. The UE may receive a control message scheduling transmission of a message during a symbol, where a transmission direction conflict arises between a first transmission direction of the message and a second transmission direction of the symbol. For example, the UE may identify a transmission direction conflict between an uplink transmission direction of the message and a downlink transmission direction of the symbol. The UE may communicate the message during the symbol based on the full-duplexing rule. The described techniques may enable the UE to attain reduced latency and higher throughput based on reducing a number of transmissions dropped by the UE.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which a network entity may output one or more transmissions as part of a beam sweeping operation using transmission parameters that consume less power, less system resources, or both. One or more transmission parameters, such as a modulation and coding scheme, amount of occupied resources, or any combinations thereof, may have a first value on a first subset of the set of system information messages, and a different value on a different subset of the set of system information messages. A synchronization signal block (SSB) transmission associated with an instance of a system information message may provide an indication of the one or more transmission parameters of the system information message. A receiving device, such as a user equipment (UE) may attempt to decode the system information message based on the indication provided in the SSB.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatuses to enable a user equipment (UE) and a base station to improve reception of a random access response (RAR) by the UE in an unlicensed spectrum. A network may define a procedure for calculating a random access radio network temporary identifier (RA-RNTI) specific to unlicensed spectrum based on an extended RAR window. The calculation procedure may allow UEs transmitting in the window to calculate a unique RA-RNTI and identify a RAR addressed to the UE using the unique RA-RNTI. Additionally, or alternatively, a base station may transmit a RAR including timing information associated with a corresponding random access request. Accordingly, a UE may receive the RAR and compare the timing information with its own random access request in order to determine whether the RAR is addressed to the UE. Additionally, a UE may monitor a secondary cell or a sub-band for the RAR.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may be configured to transmit, to a base station, a capability report indicating a capability of the UE to support multi-transmission time interval scheduling. The UE may then receive, from the base station based on the capability report, a first configuration of a first processing mode for the UE that is associated with communications scheduled for a single transmission time interval, and a second configuration of a second processing mode for the UE that is associated with communications scheduled for a scheduling interval spanning a plurality of transmission time intervals. The UE may receive, from the base station, an indication to apply the first processing mode or the second processing mode, and may communicate with the base station based on the indication.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques that may allow a base station and user equipment (UE) to be in agreement on spatial quasi co-location (QCL) assumptions for transmission in certain scenarios. The techniques may be used, for example, to determine QCL assumptions for downlink transmissions sent in an initial control resource set (CORESET) on an initial downlink bandwidth part (BWP) where dedicated signaling of such assumptions may be lacking. In some cases, the techniques may involve a UE determining a beam to use for monitoring for a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) transmission on the initial CORESET in the initial downlink BWP that lacks dedicated signaling of QCL information and monitoring for the PDCCH on the initial CORESET in the initial BWP using the determined beam. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for wireless communication by a user equipment (UE). For example, the UE receives a first indication indicating a same quasi co-location (QCL) mapping for multiple receive beams corresponding to a group of transmit and receive beam pairs from a network entity. Transmit and receive beam pairs are different from each other and grouping of the transmit and receive beam pairs is based on a distance between the UE and the network entity. The UE selects one of the multiple receive beams corresponding to the group of transmit and receive beam pairs, based on the distance between the UE and the network entity.

Abstract: Example implementations include a method, apparatus and computer-readable medium of wireless communication. A user equipment (UE) may receive a configuration indicating whether a beam switching gap is expected at a first symbol position within a subframe of a physical channel for the UE, the first symbol position having a first cyclic prefix length that is longer than a second cyclic prefix length of a second symbol position within the subframe of the physical channel for the UE. The UE may determine whether a transmission includes a missing symbol for the beam switching gap based on the configuration and the symbol position of a symbol where a beam switch is scheduled.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) and a network entity may support one or more signaling-based mechanisms according to which the network entity may inform the UE of which time and frequency resources may be used for full-duplex communication. The network entity transmit a first message to configure multiple resource block (RB) sets for the UE, where each RB set is associated with unique identifying information. To inform the UE of which time and frequency resources may be used for full-duplex communication, the network entity may transmit a second message that indicates one or more slot formats on a per RB set basis. As such, the network entity may schedule the UE for full-duplex communication in accordance with indicating that overlapping symbols of a first RB set and a second RB set are allocated for uplink and downlink, respectively.

The pose information may be used to determine a position of the UE, and one or more beam parameters may be requested based on the position of the UE. The UE may transmit a beam request to a base station for one or more beams for the current time period, for one or more future time periods, or any combinations thereof. The UE may request a switch between beams of differing beamwidths or having the same beamwidth, or request a change of a beamwidth of an existing beam.
