In one example, a system for an engine having an intake system and an exhaust system is described. The system comprises: an airflow sensor coupled to the intake system; an air pump having at least an inlet side and an outlet side, said inlet side having a first coupling to the intake system downstream of said airflow sensor, said outlet side having a second coupling to the exhaust system; and a controller coupled to the engine, said controller, during operation, identifying whether degradation has occurred to at least one of said first and second couplings, and providing an indication of said identified degradation. Abstract:
The invention provides a method for preparing insecticidally treated textile having improved properties. A novel combination of an insecticide and certain polymeric binder(s) or dye fixatives is used to coat and/or impregnate fabric via a combination of application methods used in the textile industry. The insecticide-binder or insecticide-dye fixative combination and the method by which it is applied to the textile yield a coated fabric and, ultimately, finished goods with improved wash durability of the insecticide over several launderings and prolonged insecticidal efficacy.

A central processing unit operably communicates with an actuator and at least one sensor within the cavity to regulate and monitor the dispensation of the packages, while the actuator operably communicates with a feed mechanism within the cavity to dispense the packages.

A lighting device is provided which comprises an optically non-opaque wall consisting essentially of a polymeric material and defining a portion of an envelope; a light source sealed within the envelope at a pressure of less than one atmosphere absolute; and an electrical driving device in electrical communication with the light source for causing the light source to generate light. According to another aspect of the invention, a lighting device is provided which comprises an optically non-opaque wall consisting essentially of a polymeric material and defining a portion of an envelope; a gas disposed and sealed within the envelope at a pressure of less than one atmosphere absolute, the wall being substantially impermeable by the gas; and an electrical driving device in at least one of electrical and electromagnetic communication with the gas for activating the gas to generate light. Related methods also are disclosed. In the various devices and methods, the polymeric wall material comprises a polycarbonate material, and may consist of or consist essentially of a polycarbonate material. A method and apparatus for detecting time compression of broadcast content that has been encoded with time data, includes a processor for comparing encoded time data with broadcast time data to determine whether the content has been time compressed. The method and apparatus additionally detect commercial advertisements inserted between segments and exclude when detecting time compression of the content.

The present invention provides methods for combining antenna diversity and gain control in a communications system using a single chain of receiver electronics. A number of input parameters related to various characteristics of a received signal are used to determine the quality of the received signal. The antenna diversity and gain control procedures are enabled or disabled based on the signal quality. The antenna diversity procedure estimates the signal level of the non-operational antenna using an infinite impulse response digital filter. The gain control procedure selects one of three gain paths based on the received signal strength.

A turkey decoy is provided which includes a hen turkey body portion mounted on a support mechanism. The support mechanism is adapted for selective alteration of the position of the hen turkey body portion from a standing position to a position which imitates the mating posture of a hen turkey in order to lure tom turkeys out into a clearing for easier shooting thereof. The hen turkey body portion is mounted for selectively causing same to suddenly vertically drop straight downward in a non-pivotal fashion.
