摘要: Methods and systems for predicting at least one temperature along a fluid flow path of a fluid flow system having a heater disposed in the fluid flow path are provided. In one example, a method includes: obtaining at least one input, wherein the at least one input includes a setpoint, a mass flow rate, an inlet temperature, or a combination thereof; calculating a temperature associated with the heater based on a predefined model and the at least one input; and setting a value of the at least one temperature along the fluid flow path to the temperature of the heater.

摘要: An exhaust gas treatment system for an internal combustion engine includes an exhaust gas pathway that receives exhaust gas from the engine, a temperature sensor configured to generate a temperature signal associated with a temperature of the exhaust gas at a position along the exhaust gas pathway, and a reductant source. The system also includes first and second injectors in fluid communication with the reductant source. The first and second injectors are configured to inject reductant into the exhaust gas pathway at first and second rates. The system also includes a first treatment element positioned downstream of the first injector and within the exhaust gas pathway, and a controller in communication with the temperature sensor. The controller is configured to receive the temperature signal from the temperature sensor and adjust at least one of the first rate or the second rate based at least in part on the temperature signal.

摘要: Vehicle exhaust system uses delta pressure based estimation of accumulated soot within a diesel particulate filter. The exhaust system has a diesel oxidation catalyst and a diesel particulate filter. A fuel injector is connected upstream from the diesel oxidation catalyst and the diesel particulate filter. A delta pressure sensor measures difference in pressure at inlet and outlet of the diesel particulate filter. A controller determines when to regenerate the diesel particulate filter based on an estimated amount of soot. The controller, in a first regeneration mode, causes the fuel injector to inject fuel at a first rate into the exhaust stream, and to re-evaluate amount of soot accumulated within the diesel particulate filter under increased volumetric flow. The controller, in a second regeneration mode, causes the fuel injector to inject fuel at a second rate into the exhaust stream in order to combust soot trapped in the diesel particulate filter.

摘要: A method for an engine employing an after-treatment (AT) system with an AT device for treating an engine exhaust gas includes detecting an actual concentration of a pollutant in the exhaust gas upstream of the AT device. The method additionally includes treating the exhaust gas via the AT device and directing the treated gas to an exhaust gas passage. The method also includes recirculating a portion of the treated exhaust gas from the exhaust gas passage to the engine's intake passage and determining efficiency of the AT device, after recirculating the portion of the treated exhaust gas, using the detected actual pollutant concentration. Furthermore, the method includes maintaining operation of the AT system when the determined AT device efficiency is at or above a predetermined value and activating a sensory signal indicative of the AT device having malfunctioned when the determined AT device efficiency is below the predetermined value.

摘要: A method for determining the state of loading of a particle filter in an exhaust system of a turbocharged internal combustion engine is provided. To determine the state of loading, a position of a control mechanism of the turbine of the exhaust turbocharger is detected and compared with the position during operation of the internal combustion engine with the same operating parameters with the particle filter unladen. An air mass meter is provided in order to be able to distinguish a change in the pressure situation at the turbine of the exhaust turbocharger due to a rise in the exhaust gas backpressure owing to increasing loading of the particle filter from a change in the pressure situation owing to leakage of the air supply system. An internal combustion engine having a control unit which is configured to carry out such a method is also provided.

摘要: A method includes determining, by a controller, a total emissions amount from a plurality of engines; comparing, by the controller, the total emissions amount to a predetermined threshold, wherein the predetermined threshold includes an alert value, an adjustment value, and a deactivation value, the deactivation value being greater than the adjustment value, which is greater than the alert value; deactivating, by the controller, at least one engine in response to the total emissions amount being at or greater than the deactivation value; adjusting, by the controller, operation of at least one engine in the plurality of engines in response to the total emissions amount being at or greater than the adjustment value but less than the deactivation value; and providing, by the controller, an alert in response to the total emissions amount being at or greater than the alert value but less than the adjustment value.
