Abstract: An electronic device includes a main device and an expansion device with an auxiliary battery device. The main device includes a main battery device, a voltage-directing device, a switch device, a first soft-start device, and a comparison device. The voltage-directing device outputs, through an output terminal, the higher of the voltages at a first input terminal and a second input terminal. The first soft-start device is connected to the auxiliary battery device and outputs a voltage to the second input terminal when the main device is connected to the expansion device. The comparison device controls the switch device to enter an off-state when the voltage at the second input terminal is higher than a reference voltage, and controls the switch device to enter an on-state when the voltage at the second input terminal is not higher than the reference voltage.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media for hardware recovery are disclosed. In some examples, a system can detect a hardware error and identify a system component associated with the hardware error. The system can then generate a request configured to trigger an operating system of the system to place the system in a particular operating state. The particular operating state can be determined based on a component type of the system component. The particular operating state can be a first sleep state when the component type is a peripheral component or a second sleep state when the component type is a processor, a memory, or a power supply. The second sleep state can result in a lower power resource consumption than the first sleep state. The system can generate an indication that the system component can be replaced without restarting the operating system.

Abstract: Embodiments generally relate to link state change detection and notification within a server with embedded or directly integrated network switch. In a server configuration in which there is no longer a distinct separation between a network switch and a network interface card (NIC), the server can no longer immediately detect a change in the link state of any of the switch's ports. This can lead to connection failure. A Link State Policy Table is thus implemented within the embedded or integrated switch, capable of changing the NIC link state according to one or more pre-defined or user-defined policy settings. The server is then notified of the change in the NIC link state, and can release an old IP address or request a new IP address accordingly.
