Abstract:
An announcement device in an electronic switching system is disclosed. It includes a virtual recorder in an electronic switching system. This allows for using a virtual channel for recording and monitoring voice announcements without occupying a system channel. The device includes a first switch highway (SHW) control section for controlling an announcement, a second SHW control section for controlling the announcement, a SHW channel for passing control signals of the first SHW control section and the second SHW control section, and a switch coupled to the SHW channel for performing an announcement. The first SHW control section and the second SHW control section perform address latching and data latching, respectively, for the announcement. The announcement device thus allows for a recording/monitoring service or a self loop-back test, without occupying a channel among the SHW channels performing announcement services. By introducing a virtual SHW control section and using a virtual SHW channel to an announcement device in an electronic switching system, in addition to the SHW control section, the system is enhanced.
Abstract:
A digital answering machine, electronic voice mail system, or any other voice messaging system integrating both non-speech data such as caller ID information or graphical or pictorial images together with associated speech data in common memory such that only one message table is necessary. The integrated common memory is divided into sectors, and each sector is divided into pages which each contain both speech and non-speech data. A single message table is associated with each corresponding set of speech and non-speech data, and includes an offset value indicating the beginning address of the speech data stored just above its associated non-speech data in the first linked page. The offset value is variable to provide an elastic non-speech data buffer to accommodate variable length non-speech data such as would be required by the various caller ID standards throughout the world.
Abstract:
In a voice mail exchange for voice mail telephone sets grouped into first through N-th groups, where N represents a first predetermined number, a message recorder comprises memory sectors in one-to-one correspondence to the first through N-th groups for storage of messages originating at and destined to the telephone sets. The voice mail exchange may also include interface circuits which are selectively put in operation by control signals produced in accordance with predetermined office data by a control unit. The interface circuits interface between first through N-th recorder signals supplied to (and reproduced from) the memory sectors and first through M-th switchboard signals produced by (and supplied to) a switchboard connected to the telephone sets, where M represents a second predetermined number related to N by the office data.
Abstract:
A telephone system which, when a call terminating subscriber which should receive a call from a call originating subscriber is not at the location of his telephone, a location registration unit is accessed so as to call the telephone nearest to the call terminating subscriber, wherein, even when the registration in the location registration unit is not correct, the location information source is referred to deduce the correct location of the call terminating subscriber. This location information source contains various types of sensor information and schedule management information showing the whereabouts of the call terminating subscriber.
Abstract:
This invention allows a subscriber of a telephone network to receive a call by a telephone registered under his/her personal telephone number no matter where he/she carries the telephone with him/her by maintaining a reference table of a personal telephone number assigned to each subscriber, a station number assigned to each telephone, and a subscriber loop address assigned to a telephone connection terminal of the network in a memory within the network. The reference table collates the station number of the telephone registered in correspondence with a personal telephone number with the subscriber loop address at which the particular telephone is being connected, and when a call for connection is made under the personal telephone number, the connection is made to the telephone by referring to the reference table, calling the loop address at which the telephone registered under the personal telephone number is currently connected, and connecting the call under control to the telephone registered under the particular personal telephone number. The station numbers are allocated to telephones respectively in the order of manufacture or distribution in accordance with a certain rule to avoid duplication.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a distributed architecture that includes multiple voice processing unit each designated as a home unit for a subscriber's messages. An incoming call is preferentially switched to the home VPU by a digital switching system under the control of a master control unit. If a master control unit determines that all lines to the home unit are busy or the home unit is otherwise unavailable, the master unit causes the digital system to switch the call to another or remote voice processing unit. The remote unit then handles the call by either locally storing a message or retrieving a message from the home unit storage over an internal message bus. If a message is stored remotely and the home unit is processing the subscriber request, the home unit can access the remote message over the internal control bus or the master control unit can switch the call routing through the switching system to the remote unit for processing of the remote message and return the switching system routing to the home unit when finished with the remote message. Each voice processing unit stores both remote and home message locally on local disc storage units. The master control unit stores subscriber related information such as the home voice processing unit for each subscriber and the location of each message for that subscriber. Comunication between the master control unit and the voice processing units is over an internal network.
Abstract:
In a network (10) of voice-mail message service systems (12-14), each system includes an arrangement (22) for automatically moving the serving of one or more subscribers from itself to another system. In response to administrator (29) input, the source system retrieves each moving subscriber's mailbox (200) contents, translates subscriber I.D.s appearing therein into universal names and extension numbers, and transfers the translated contents, including delivery lists (222) and messages (211), to the destination system. The destination system creates a new mailbox for each moved subscriber, translates the universal information into subscriber I.D.s, and populates the new mailbox with the transferred contents. The source system informs third systems of the move, so they can update their information. During audits, the source and destination systems search their databases to find any information affected by the move and update it; the source system also deletes the moved subscribers' old mailboxes.
Abstract:
Some embodiments of the present invention are directed to a case for use with a mobile electronic device. The case includes a body that is detachably secured to the mobile electronic device. An electrical bus is disposed within the body. A connector is disposed on the body. The connector is communicably coupled to the mobile electronic device. The case further includes a memory configured to store a file received from the mobile electronic device through the connector, a processor configured to generate a signal based on the file stored in the memory, and an output port. The output port is configured to transmit the signal generated by the processor to an external device, wherein the external device is communicably coupled to the output port. The connector, the memory, the processor and the output port are communicably coupled to the electrical bus.
Abstract:
A contact center has channels for receiving communications requesting interaction with an agent, agent stations providing connection ability to received communications, and a Virtual Interaction (VI) Server connected to the LAN and executing VI software on a processor from a non-transitory medium. The VI Server creates and stores a Virtual Interaction object based on determination of an expected receipt of a future communication, the VI associating a source, an intent, a set of data regarding the source, and an agent station destination, and the created VI is stored and matched with a real incoming communication from the source associated in the VI, and the VI is then instantiated as a live interaction by connecting the source of the incoming call with the agent destination associated in the VI.
Abstract:
Techniques for behavioral pairing in a contact center system are disclosed. In one particular embodiment, the techniques may be realized as a method for pairing in a contact center including ordering one or more contacts, ordering one or more agents, comparing a first difference in ordering between a first contact and a first agent in a first pair with a second difference in ordering between a second contact and a second agent in a second pair, and selecting the first pair or the second pair for connection based on the comparing, wherein the first contact and the second contact are different or the first agent and the second agent are different.
