Abstract:
A monitoring apparatus receives, according to an occurrence of an event (e.g., error or jam) at an image forming apparatus, a notification of information regarding the event that has occurred. The notification is sent with use of address information of the monitoring apparatus registered in the image forming apparatus. The monitoring apparatus stores the received information in a memory unit thereof. Then, the monitoring apparatus acquires the information regarding the event that has occurred at the image forming apparatus by periodically inquiring to the image forming apparatus, and determines whether the acquired information is stored in the memory unit. According to determination that the acquired information is not stored in the memory unit, the monitoring apparatus re-registers the address information of the monitoring apparatus into the image forming apparatus.
Abstract:
A device management apparatus which manages a device and a terminal which remotely uses the device, the apparatus comprises a log acquisition unit configured to acquire a log of the device; a usage location specification unit configured to specify a location of the terminal at the time of use of the device based on the log acquired by the log acquisition unit; and a generation unit configured to generate information of an area where the device is used, based on the location of the terminal at the time of use of the device which is specified by the usage location specification unit.
Abstract:
Sharing data based on tagging is disclosed. Sharing includes associating a tag with a contact, identifying an object to which the tag is assigned, and sending object data associated with the object to the contact. Assigning a tag is disclosed. Assigning includes receiving an object from a contact, identifying a tag associated with the contact, and assigning the tag to the object.
Abstract:
A communication apparatus which is capable of ascertaining whether or not it is possible to transmit image data to a transmission destination irrespective of functions it has, and notifying a user of the ascertainment result, thus enhancing convenience. A storage unit stores an address book including a plurality of addresses indicative of transmission destinations of data. A first receiving unit receives a first message from an external device. A determination unit determines whether an address of the external device that has transmitted the received first message is included in the address book. A display unit displays the address of the external device in a first display form which is different from a display form of other addresses in a case where the determination unit determines that the address of the external device is included in the address book and when the address book is displayed.
Abstract:
A facsimile machine receives image data, generates a password for received image data, assigns the generated password to the received image data, and stores the received image data. Information indicating a notification destination is extracted from the received image data, and the notification destination is notified of the password. The received image data are output responsive to subsequent input of the password at the facsimile machine. This scheme provides password protection without forcing users to register and remember passwords, and without the risk that a compromised password may be used for unauthorized output of facsimile data received later.
Abstract:
An augmented reality system and method for diagnosing and fixing a fault in a device. A mobile communication device can be operatively connected with a networked rendering device by reading a two-dimensional bar code associated with the rendering device. An image with respect to the rendering device can be captured by an image-capturing unit associated with the mobile communication device. The image can be augmented with additional information and a target area can be highlighted in order to indicate a fault component. An action to be taken with respect to the target area can be displayed on the mobile communication device. Such an approach permits an end user to address the device issue with increased quality of information and accuracy.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus including a scanner engine and an operation panel is provided, in which the image forming apparatus includes: a display part for displaying a selection screen for selecting a transfer destination of scanned data from among a plurality of transfer destinations on the operation panel; a scanning process part for causing the scanner engine to scan a document to produce scanned data; and a transfer part for transferring the scanned data to one or more selected transfer destinations.
Abstract:
There is described a controlling program, a controlling apparatus, an image forming apparatus and a print controlling method, each to be employed in the variable-data printing. The controlling apparatus that controls a variable-data printing to create plural sets of print products based on print data provided with a variable field to which variable printing contents are to be applied for the plural sets of the print products, so as to convert the print data to raster image data, includes: a record acquiring section to acquire the plural records to be applied to the variable field; and a specifying section to specify, for each of the plural sets of print products, one kind of paper sheet out of plural kinds of paper sheets, based on correlation information in which the plural records and the plural kinds of paper sheets are correlated with each other.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes an interface unit which receives print data and file data; a printing unit which prints an image on a recording medium; a writing unit which stores tag data in a non-contact type tag when the recording medium provides the non-contact type tag; a buffer unit in which file data is stored in the non-contact type tag; and a control unit which controls the printing unit and the writing unit. The control unit stores the file data in the buffer unit when the file data is received. The control unit controls the printing unit to form an image on the recording medium based upon content of the print data when the print data is received. The control unit controls the writing unit to store the file data stored in the buffer unit in the non-contact type tag.
Abstract:
In an image forming apparatus which is communicably connected to a management server for managing a scan ticket in which an instruction content for performing reading of a paper document is defined and can issue an instruction concerning printing to accumulated print jobs, when it is judged that the instruction concerning the printing is issued to the designated print job, a generation request of the scan ticket including reading setting for performing the reading of the paper document on which the print job has been printed is transmitted to the management server, a list of the scan tickets obtained from the management server is displayed, the reading of the paper document is performed using the scan ticket selected from list information of the displayed scan tickets, and an image obtained by the reading is transmitted to a transmission destination specified by the scan ticket.
