Abstract: A process analytic system includes an analytic sensor configured to sense a characteristic of a fluid. The process analytic system also includes measurement circuitry coupled to the analytic sensor and configured to generate an indication of the characteristic of the fluid. The process analytic system includes a processor coupled to the measurement circuitry and configured to receive the indication of the characteristic of the fluid and calculate a sensor-related output based on the indication of the characteristic of the fluid. In addition, the process analytic system includes a diagnostics component configured to determine a rate of degradation of the analytic sensor based on the sensor-related output and a reference value, wherein the rate of degradation is compared to a pre-selected threshold.

Abstract: An industrial process field device includes first and second loop terminals configured to couple to a two-wire process control loop. Device circuitry is powered from the process control loop and monitors a process variable or controls a control device. A current regulator is in series with the loop terminals, and regulates a loop current. A first shunt voltage regulator regulates a voltage across the device circuitry. Supplemental circuitry is connected in series with the first shunt voltage regulator and the second loop terminal, and is powered by power from the two-wire process control loop shunted through the first shunt voltage regulator. A second shunt voltage regulator is connected in series with the first shunt voltage regulator and the second loop terminal, and in parallel with the supplemental circuitry, and regulates a voltage across the supplemental circuitry.

Abstract: A colorimetric analyzer includes a reaction chamber configured to receive a sample and at least one reagent. A measurement cell is operably coupled to the reaction chamber. The measurement cell has an illumination source and an illumination detector spaced from the illumination source such that illumination from the illumination source passes through the reacted sample to the illumination detector. A controller is coupled to the illumination source and the illumination detector. The controller is configured to generate an analytic output based on a signal from the illumination detector. A fill conduit is operably interposed between the reaction chamber and the measurement cell. The fill conduit is configured to reduce bubbles.

Abstract: A pH sensor for a single-use container includes a plunger sleeve configured to couple to a flange of the single-use container. A plunger is axially movable within the plunger sleeve between a storage position and an operating position. A pH sensing element coupled to the plunger wherein the pH element is disposed within a storage chamber in the storage position and is configured to be exposed to an interior of the single-use container in the operating position. In one example, a temperature sensitive element is disposed within the pH sensor and configured to sense temperature proximate the pH sensing element. In another example, a lock member is coupled to the plunger, where the lock member has a locked position and an unlocked position, the lock member being configured to inhibit movement of the plunger when in the locked position. In yet another example, the plunger includes at least one filling channel that allows access to a reference fill chamber when the plunger is in a filling position.

Abstract: A level transmitter includes an analog-to-digital convertor clock signal generator that receives a transmitter clock signal that is used to establish when an incident signal is transmitted toward a material boundary. The analog-to-digital convertor clock signal generator uses the received transmitter clock signal to generate an analog-to-digital convertor clock signal. An analog-to-digital convertor samples an analog waveform based on the analog-to-digital convertor clock signal and generates a digital value for each sample of the analog waveform. An analysis module analyzes the digital values to determine a distance to the material boundary.

Abstract: An improved oxygen analyzer includes a controller configured to receive an oxygen sensor signal and provide an oxygen concentration output. A probe is configured to extend into a source of combustion process gas. An oxygen sensor is disposed within the probe and has a sensing electrode mounted to one side of a solid electrolyte and a reference electrode mounted to an opposite side of the solid electrolyte. The oxygen sensor has catalytic beads that are configured to be disposed between the process gas and the sensing electrode. Measurement circuitry is operably coupled to the oxygen sensor and the controller and is configured to provide the controller with the oxygen sensor signal based on an electrical response of the oxygen sensor. The controller is configured to detect a behavior of the oxygen sensor concentration output over time to provide at least one ancillary output.

Abstract: A method for connecting a field device to a wireless process communication network is provided. The method comprises bringing the wireless field device within a proximity of a wireless gateway. The method also comprises establishing a connection between an NFC transceiver associated with the wireless gateway and an NFC tag associated with the wireless field device. The method also comprises generating a near field communication between the wireless gateway and the field device to exchange wireless field device access information. The method also comprises using the wireless field device access information to allow the wireless field device to communicate over the wireless process communication network. A method is also provided for configuring a wireless process communication adapter at a wireless gateway using NFC communication and then subsequently coupling the configured wireless process communication adapter to a field device.
