Abstract: Systems and methods described herein provide for receiving, by a network device and from a radio access network (RAN) controller, transmission information related to performing an over-the-air (OTA) update campaign, the transmission information identifying a location of a plurality of user equipment (UE) devices that are to receive an OTA update; receiving, by the network device, an OTA update file associated with the OTA update; and transferring, by the network device, the OTA update file to the plurality of UE devices according to the transmission information.

Abstract: Devices, methods, and computer-readable media described herein and provide for sending, by a first wireless station, a suspend message to a wireless station associated with a radio resource control (RRC) session for a dual connectivity (DC) capable user equipment (UE) device that places the DC capable UE device in an RRC inactive mode; storing, by the first wireless station, UE context information from a core network for the DC capable UE device for the RRC session; and evaluating, by the first wireless station, a set of criteria to determine whether to also store the UE context information at the wireless station.

Abstract: Systems and methods described herein provide for intelligent differentiated retransmissions in Radio Access Networks (RANs), such as Fifth Generation New Radio (5G-NR) networks, to provide consistent low latency for different service requirements. A network device determines if consistent low latency is required for a communication session requested by a user equipment (UE) device. The network device selects, based on the determining, retransmission settings for the communication session and sends the retransmission settings to an access station of a radio access network (RAN).

Abstract: A system described herein may provide for the tracking and/or calculating of performance metrics associated with a network by marking traffic and determining performance characteristics of the marked traffic. Such performance characteristics or metrics may include throughput, latency, jitter, and/or other metrics. The marking may be performed on “user” traffic, which may be traffic that is generated or sent via the network by an application or service (e.g., a voice call service, a content streaming service, etc.), as opposed to “synthetic” or “test” traffic, which is traffic that is generated or sent for the purposes of testing performance of the network (e.g., traffic related to a “speed test” or the like).

Abstract: A device may receive information from a unified database, wherein the information includes a Service Profile Identifier (SPID); select a Quality-of-Service (QoS)-related identifier (ID) at least based on the SPID; and either map a radio bearer to a flow associated with a User Equipment device (UE) or configure a component to map the radio bearer to the flow. After mapping the radio bearer to the flow, the device may send data from the flow to the UE based on the QoS related ID. After configuring the component, the device may forward the SPID to a second component for sending the data from the flow to the UE based on the QoS-related ID.

Abstract: A method and device is disclosed to select a network access link for an application in a user equipment (UE) device to use for communicating with a network. The method may include determining a plurality of network access links associated with the UE device and determining one or more criteria associated with a request to access a network. The criteria may include throughput, financial cost, latency, or signal strength. The method may include determining a score for each of the plurality of network access links with respect to the criteria. The score score may be based on historical data related to the criteria. The method may include comparing the score for each of the plurality of network access links with the criteria and selecting one of the network access links for an application to use to communicate with the network.

Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide for a hybrid network device to serve as a zero- or low-latency relay for communications between a wireless network, such as a licensed wireless network, and one or more other devices. The hybrid network device may establish a connection with a base station of a wireless network via a licensed radio access technology (“RAT”). The hybrid network device may communicate with one or more devices via an unlicensed RAT. The hybrid network device of some embodiments may aggregate communications from devices and may serve as a single connection endpoint with respect to the base station, such that the base station need not maintain a relatively large number of connections to accommodate a relatively large quantity devices.

Abstract: Systems and methods provide a short data, low latency service using a Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) network. A network device receives, in a core network, an attach request from an end device and detect whether a packet size range for data transmissions from the end device is within a configured size threshold. The network device directs, when the packet size is within the configured size threshold, routing of the data transmissions via a control plane function of an edge network to a local instance of an application server in the edge network. The network device directs, when the packet size is over the configured size threshold, routing of the data transmissions via a user plane function of the edge network to a local instance of an application server in the edge network.
