Abstract: Example techniques for allocating a candidate server instance for execution of an application instance are described. In an example, a request for allocation of a candidate server instance from multiple server instances is received. The request for allocation of the candidate server instance comprises allocation parameters to uniquely identify the candidate server instance from the plurality of server instances. Subsequently, operational parameters of the candidate server instance are analyzed to determine eligibility of the candidate server instance for execution of the application instance. The candidate server instance is subsequently allocated for execution of the application instance based on the eligibility.

Abstract: Examples disclosed herein relate to integrity monitoring of a computing system. Trust of state information is verified. Kernel code and module code are loaded into memory that is accessible to a device separate from a processor that loads the kernel code and module code. A measurement module is verified and loaded into memory. The state information can correspond to multiple symbols. The measurement module can measure the state information corresponding to each of the respective symbols to generate a set of initial measurements. The set of initial measurements can be provided to a device for integrity monitoring.

Abstract: In some examples, an electronic device records, in an entry of a time-state data structure that includes a plurality of entries to store respective times, a time in response to invocation of a time-lapse process that lasts a predefined time duration independently of a time clock of the electronic device. The electronic device determines whether times in successive entries of the plurality of entries of the time-state data structure are within a threshold of one another, the threshold based on the predefined time duration. Based on the determining, the electronic device sets a parameter representing a quality of the time clock.

Abstract: A process includes determining, by an operating system agent of a computer system, a first profile that is associated with an input/output (I/O) peripheral of the computer system. The first profile is associated with an error register of the I/O peripheral, and the first profile represents a configuration of the computer system that is associated with the I/O peripheral. The process includes, responsive to a notification of an error being associated with the I/O peripheral, determining, by the operating system agent, a second profile that is associated with the I/O peripheral. The second profile is associated with the error register. Moreover, responsive to the notification of the error, the process includes comparing, by a baseboard management controller of the computer system, the second profile to the first profile. Based on the comparison, the process includes determining, by the baseboard management controller, whether the error is attributable to a driver for the I/O peripheral.

Abstract: In embodiments of the present disclosure, there is provided an approach for channel sounding. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, if the CSI change rate exceeds a first threshold, the AP may disable the beamforming. If the CSI change rate does not exceed the first threshold but exceeds a second threshold below the first threshold, the AP may perform the channel sounding at a first time interval. Otherwise, if the CSI change rate does not exceed the second threshold, the AP may perform the channel sounding at a second time interval. Embodiments of the present disclosure provide an effective way for channel sounding.

Abstract: A system for layer-2 path tracing is provided. During operation, the system can send, from an originating device, a layer-2 trace packet with a packet type in a layer-2 header of the layer-2 trace packet. The packet type can indicate the trace packet to be a tracing packet. The system can then receive a layer-2 response packet from a respective participating device, which supports layer-2 path tracing, on a path to a target device of the trace packet. Subsequently, the system can obtain, from a payload of the response packet, trace information of a forward path to the participating device traversed by the trace packet and a reverse path from the participating device traversed by the response packet. The trace information can identify one or more layer-2 devices along the forward and reverse paths, and include one or more layer-2 identifiers corresponding to the identified one or more layer-2 devices.

Abstract: Systems are methods are provided for implementing an analog content addressable memory (analog CAM), which is particularly structured to allow for an amount of variance (fuzziness) in its search operations. The analog CAM may search for approximate matches with the data stored therein, or matches within a defined variance. Circuitry of the analog CAM may include transistor-source lines that receive search-variance parameters, and/or data lines that receive search-variance parameters explicitly within the search input data. The search-variance parameters may include an upper bound and a lower bound that define a range of values within the allotted amount of fuzziness (e.g., deviation from the stored value). The search-variance parameters may program (using analog approaches) the analog CAM to perform searches having a modifiable restrictiveness that is tuned dynamically, as defined by the input search-variance. Thus, highly efficient hardware for complex applications involving fuzziness are enabled.

Abstract: Described herein are systems, methods, and software to enhance the management of virtual nodes in a computing environment.
