Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) having partially coherent antennas may be configured for simultaneous transmissions on groups of antennas (e.g., multiple pairs of antennas). To achieve the benefits of simultaneous transmissions using groups of antenna that are partially coherent, without having the transmissions affect each other (e.g., interference), the UE may apply a hybrid closed-loop multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) scheme among each antenna in the antenna groups where phase coherence can be maintained. Following the hybrid closed-loop MIMO scheme, the UE may apply a transparent diversity scheme across each antenna of the groups. Alternatively, the UE may first apply the transparent diversity scheme and next apply the hybrid closed-loop MIMO scheme. By applying a hybrid closed-loop MIMO scheme, as well as a transparent diversity scheme, the UE may fully realize its resources and contribute to an improved spatial diversity for a MIMO system.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described that provide for detection and management of hidden node interference. A user equipment (UE) may provide measurement reports to a serving transmitting device to help identify the hidden node interferer in response to detecting hidden node interference. The serving transmitting device may collaborate with one or more neighboring transmitting devices, such as other transmitting devices of an operator of a wireless communications system, to identify one or more of the neighboring transmitting devices that are within an energy detect or preamble detect radius of the hidden node. The serving transmitting device may coordinate with the neighboring transmitting device(s) to determine when the hidden node may transmit, to transmit coordinated preamble transmissions to prevent the hidden node from transmitting during a transmission, or to identify a modulation and coding scheme for the transmission.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may determine a set of power control parameters for a user equipment (UE) to use in different power control loops. The base station may indicate a power control process for the UE to perform in downlink control information. The UE may identify a subset of the power control parameters to use in a power control loop for the indicated process. In some examples, the power control parameters may be for different sounding reference signal processes, such as uplink channel sounding, downlink channel sounding with channel reciprocity, or cross-link interference. In some other examples, the power control parameters may be for power control loops of different uplink channel configuration. The base station may convey the set of power control parameters to the UE by radio resource control signaling.

Abstract: Network discovery and synchronization for new radio (NR) shared spectrum (NR-SS) is discussed for a wireless network having a super frame configuration on a shared spectrum shared between a plurality of network operators. A base station may obtain a discovery preamble from a plurality of network entities within the wireless network, wherein each of the plurality of network entities belongs to one or more of the plurality of network operators and shares the super frame configuration. The base station detects the timing of the super frame configuration using the discovery preamble and may then synchronize the base station to the super frame configuration according to the detected timing.

Abstract: Techniques are described for wireless communication at a wireless device. One method includes identifying a priority of the wireless device for a transmission interval of a radio frequency spectrum band shared by a plurality of network operating entities; identifying an absence of a predetermined transmission type in each of a number of clear channel assessment (CCA) slots of the transmission interval, in which each of the number of CCA slots is associated with a higher priority than the identified priority of the wireless device; and communicating over the radio frequency spectrum band based at least in part on the identified absence of the predetermined transmission type in each of the number of CCA slots associated with the higher priority than the priority of the wireless device.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A mobile device may be scheduled for resources of multiple transmission time intervals (TTIs) with a downlink control message; some or all of the multiple TTIs may be associated with different hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) processes. Each TTI may include data mapped to one transport block (TB), and each TB may be associated with a separate HARQ process. The downlink control message may include an indication of which HARQ processes are associated with resources of the multiple TTIs scheduled by the message. For example, the downlink control message may include a mapping (e.g., a bitmap) that indicates a relationship between each HARQ process and each TTI scheduled by the message. Feedback for TBs of some TTIs may differ, and an acknowledgment of receipt or successful decoding may depend on timing of TTIs in relation to a control message.

Abstract: Uplink short transmissions (ULSTs) may be configured in a wireless communications system to be transmitted in configured uplink resources within a listen-before-talk (LBT) frame or within a ULST window during which a user equipment (UE) may transmit a ULST and during which the base station may monitor for ULSTs. A UE having an amount of data to be transmitted that is less than a threshold value may transmit the data in the ULST, and avoid the need to have the base station allocate separate uplink resources outside of the configured uplink resources or the ULST window.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A base station supporting multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS) and operating in a shared radio frequency spectrum band may map MBMS transport blocks (TBs) to each carrier in the system bandwidth. The device may perform a clear channel assessment (CCA) on one or more of the carriers, and transmit a portion of the MBMS TBs on carriers with successful CCAs. The portion of the MBMS TBs mapped to carriers with unsuccessful CCAs may be punctured. In various examples, a single TB may be mapped across the carriers, different TBs may mapped to each carrier, or redundancy versions (RVs) may be mapped to each carrier. A region at the frequency boundary of each carrier may be reserved for a guard region, and may not be used for MBMS transmissions when a carrier is associated with a failed CCA.
