摘要: Heterophasic propylene copolymer compositions may include a polymer matrix of a random propylene copolymer and an elastomeric copolymer dispersed in the polymer matrix in an amount ranging from about 10 to 35 wt. %, relative to the weight of the composition. The random propylene copolymer may include one or more comonomers in an amount ranging from about 0.5 to 8.0 wt. % of the random propylene copolymer. The elastomeric copolymer may include propylene and one or more comonomers, where the one or more comonomers are present in an amount ranging from about 15 to 60 wt. % of the elastomeric copolymer. Films may be formed from heterophasic propylene copolymer compositions. Methods of preparing heterophasic propylene copolymer compositions may include performing a multistage polymerization.

摘要: The present disclosure provides recombinant microorganisms and methods for the anaerobic production of 2,4-furandimethanol from one or more carbon sources. The microorganisms and methods provide redox-balanced and ATP positive pathways for co-producing 2,4-furandimethanol with ethanol and for co-producing 2,4-furandimethanol with ethanol and acetone and/or isopropanol. The method provides recombinant microorganisms that express endogenous and/or exogenous nucleic acid molecules encoding polypeptides that catalyze the conversion of a carbon source into 2,4-furandimethanol and that couple the 2,4-furandimethanol pathway with an additional metabolic pathway. The present disclosure further provides enzymatic production of 2,4-furandicarboxylic acid.

Processes of preparing a polymer composition may include mixing a polyolefin, a polar polymer, and a crosslinking agent; and selectively crosslinking the polar polymer with the crosslinking agent in the presence of the polyolefin. Methods may include increasing stress cracking resistance of a polyolefin by mixing a polar polymer with the polyolefin; and selectively crosslinking the polar polymer in the presence of the polyolefin with a crosslinking agent to form crosslinked polar polymer particles dispersed in the polyolefin.

Polymer compositions may include a nonpolar matrix polymer; one or more adjuncts selected from the group of an ionomer, a polar polymer, a metal salt, or combinations thereof. Polymer compositions may also include an intelligent additive, wherein when exposed to the external stimuli, the intelligent additive triggers a color change in the polymeric composition, wherein after at least 17 hours of exposure to the external stimuli, the polymer composition exhibits a ΔE of at least 8 or more, maintaining the ΔE of at least 8 or more for at least 5 days after the exposure to external stimulus is ceased.
